thoughts and things: October 2009
http://paradoxsolved.blogspot.com/2009_10_01_archive.html
Life as a designer in the village of Aberdeen. Saturday, October 24, 2009. I realised that, even though I always been up to speed with technology, I hadn't treated myself to anything new in months (due to never having time to shop as I'm always working at. I thought about the iPhone 3G and discounted it as its not nearly as business orientated as the HTC I have (and is a bit gimmicky (never thought I'd say that about Apple gear). And then decided on a Sony Touch Reader. But seriously, what a machine!
thoughts and things: easy eizo...
http://paradoxsolved.blogspot.com/2010/10/easy-eizo.html
Life as a designer in the village of Aberdeen. Sunday, October 17, 2010. I was persuaded to try out the new Eizo screens, so I got a 24" one. Very nice. it even senses if you are there and switches off if you aren't. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). The blog for a discount printing company based in Aberdeen and Central England. thoughts and things: April 2009
http://paradoxsolved.blogspot.com/2009_04_01_archive.html
Life as a designer in the village of Aberdeen. Wednesday, April 8, 2009. We've been considering a CAC for ages, and we finally bought one, a Verevide Colour Assessment Cabinet. What a great piece of technology! Transmissive and reflective work can be assessed as a comparison on the box or cabinet. That combined with our Pantone Two reader means that our colour reproduction accuracy is going to be higher than ever, and our artist clients in particular will be happy bunnies. Links to this post.
thoughts and things: chinese curse...?
http://paradoxsolved.blogspot.com/2010/10/chinese-curse.html
Life as a designer in the village of Aberdeen. Sunday, October 17, 2010. The one I'm thinking on is 'may you live in interesting times'. We've just spent a bomb on upgrading servers, new gear in the form of workstations and screens, tablets etc. So what happens? We've just had a couple of weeks of technology problems. Super duper (hideously). Had also lost their settings. Ahh the joys. All fixed now however, and no clients affected. but we are looking at a dedicated leased line. View my complete profile.
thoughts and things: iPhone -uPhone...
http://paradoxsolved.blogspot.com/2010/09/iphone-uphone.html
Life as a designer in the village of Aberdeen. Monday, September 6, 2010. I've talked to 3 people recently that are all getting rid of their iPhones. why? They're brilliant at doing everything (there's an App for that) except being a phone. Poor reception, tinny voice reproduction etc are starting to piss people off. Interestingly enough, business people are looking seriously at windows mobile and android phones. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile.

Life as a designer in the village of Aberdeen. Friday, January 28, 2011. So the student are revolting - yes aren't they. boom, boom. But seriously, I am really pleased to see the student up in arms against some of the injustices imposed on them, and Britain, by the firmly Eton/Oxbridge middle-class twits that are forming the backbone(? Of this Thatcherite government. Pretty poor marks for basic arithmetic and business sense. or will some close friends make a killing (sic). Links to this post. View my com...

thoughts and things: June 2010
http://paradoxsolved.blogspot.com/2010_06_01_archive.html
Life as a designer in the village of Aberdeen. Saturday, June 26, 2010. I'm a bit unusual, in that, I don't see the use of iPhones. There's an App for that , to me, is quite funny, as most of these 'Apps' have been available for Windows Mobile phone for many years, and in addition, Apple products are notoriously a pain at integrating with PC's and PC software (Outlook? Links to this post. Gadgets, gadgets everywhere. Then I realised I have a state-of-the-art phone with mp3 player (good sound as well).
thoughts and things: March 2009
http://paradoxsolved.blogspot.com/2009_03_01_archive.html
Life as a designer in the village of Aberdeen. Tuesday, March 10, 2009. Just read ' a smile in the mind' again. It really is one of the definitive design books around. I was totally amazed when some of our staff said they hardly ever read a book, instead getting all their information off the web. What's wrong with that I hear you say. it's something like the way that all the news programmes report the same events in the same way. Why? Links to this post. Sunday, March 8, 2009. So what's been happening?
rocket-print: watch out for the new site..
http://rocket-print.blogspot.com/2011/01/watch-out-for-new-site.html
What's new at a discount print house - the trials and tribulations of small business. Friday, January 28, 2011. Watch out for the new site. We realised that, one problem with keeping prices constant for 4 years is that we haven't been pushed to change the site. However, with a number of small changes happening at the moment, we will have to address the new site. This on top of everthing else that's going on work-wise - ah well.
