Weed control appears to good where herbicides were used. Corn on our organic soils looks better than our mineral land. Tissue tests have confirmed nitrogen, phosphorous and sulphur deficiencies. Most of these problems would be eliminated with moisture while some will have to be fixed next year. Weed pressure in wheat is the highest I've seen in several years. Henbit, chickweed and bluegrasss are the predominant weeds and we shouldn't have any problem controlling them. First time I've ever driven out to Ohio, Indiana and Illinois. Corn an beans for as far as you can see. Beautiful country. Farming looks worry free out here but I know thats not the case. Appears to be more corn to be harvested than soybeans. Looks like growers will have a couple of good days for harvesting before rain moves in. Weed Pressure Heavy in Wheat.

It should look a lot better once the lint dries out. Rain fall totals range from 6-15 inches. It doesn't appear a lot was blown out (10%). The short plant structure also helped with standability. Soybeans probably faired the best but will be difficult to scout. Thankfully, we were in a period of low insect pressure.
