Designing a wheelchair for the developing world. Saturday, June 30, 2007. June 28, 2007- Rest for the Weary. Joseph bought me some ginger ale, which apparently is a universal beverage for those with sick tummies. Who knew! I did however have some bacterial infection of some sort, for which she gave me an antibiotic and her phone number, incase I should have any problem. The doctor and nurse were really fantastic and I would recommend their hospital to any other visitors to Arusha. The staff at the guesth...

http://tishinafrica.blogspot.com/2007_07_01_archive.html
Designing a wheelchair for the developing world. Sunday, July 29, 2007. Sorry I haven't posted anything in a while. This was my last week working here in Tanzania so it was pretty crazy trying to tie up all the loose ends. But what an amazing week it was! I promise I'll post the highlights when I get back. But for now I'm packing up my things, cleaning my apartment, saying some last goodbyes, and heading to the airport to pick up my family. Hopefully they recognize me, big hair and all! This weekend Jose...

Designing a wheelchair for the developing world. Monday, July 28, 2008. Sunday, July 27th. People here are just genuinely friendly. I’m sure I’ve written about it before, but I love that I can’t walk more than 10 or 20 yards without somebody striking up a conversation with me. And although the lack of space on the daladala can be a little intimidating at times, it’s an experience you never forget. Thursday, July 24, 2008. A day with Richard. Wednesday, July 23rd. His original business was shining and rep...

Designing a wheelchair for the developing world. Tuesday, May 15, 2007. Welcome to my blog! This is the first of hopefully many posts to come, detailing my adventures in Tanzania this summer. I have to get through final exams next week, but it's pretty hard to focus when I have so much to look forward to! After a trip to Metropolitan Pipe, a few hours in the lab last night prototyping our design on SolidWorks, and a late night order to McMaster, we're ready to put it all together! Welcome to my blog!

Then I met up with Richard, one of the new small-business owners, and we headed over to Exim Bank to open his account. Me and Richard infront of his chicken coop. Richard’s property is really b...
