Thursday, May 06, 2010. We had Al's third birthday this weekend just gone. It was lovely - just a few friends and six or so of their kids. And another year of Thomas the Tank Engine. We had planned to have another theme this year but AL was insistent and as my friend Leanne said 'its not like he'll want it when he is 15'. We had a few party games which he totally enjoyed and he loved the singing and candle blowing. It was laid back and sunny and basically a very nice event. Thursday, March 25, 2010.

Monday, March 08, 2010. We really love a weekend away in my family. Whenever we have one I declare we have to have them more often (I also make this declaration after every holiday) but the reality is we are lucky to get away every 6 - 8 weeks. Gaye has been away ALOT this year for work and to be with Carol. And so we haven't been away at all this year until now. We had a truly lovely time in Brissie (do only non QLD'ers call it that? From the bath while Gaye and I had a red together. We like to read.

When we did get around to changing our birth certificate it was lots of fun to do it with the pea green boat girls and the baybeasts and the pbx crew. Later that day the “daily hyphen” newspaper called me because of my volunteer work for a comment on the implementation of the legislation. i mentioned that we had changed the birth certificate and suddenly we became the news in the paper. And subsequently (and weirdly) on the radio.
