In the Basement at Stanford

In the Basement at Stanford. Philip Zimbardo's Stanford Prison Experiment: Knowledge Comes at a Price. 17 April, 2009. I would have done it. At first, Simbardo's experiment sounded to me like a first peek into a big black box. It could have just been a box of precious information of human behavior; it could have been empty. Unfortunately, it was both a treasure chest and a torturer's toolbox.but I, for one, would not have guessed that. . Have deceived the participants' parents! If that level of freedom i...

In the Basement at Stanford: Question 4

http://wheregoestime.blogspot.com/2009/04/question-4.html

In the Basement at Stanford. Philip Zimbardo's Stanford Prison Experiment: Knowledge Comes at a Price. 17 April, 2009. If you were a prisoner, would you have been able to endure the experience? What would you have done differently than those subjects did? If you were imprisoned in a "real" prison for five years or more, could you take it? I don't know if I would have been able to endure the experience. After all, my initial response to this experiment was "I wouldn't start role-play that intensely!

In the Basement at Stanford. Philip Zimbardo's Stanford Prison Experiment: Knowledge Comes at a Price. 17 April, 2009. Whoa Before I start answering questions, I would like to say that this experiment is "wack". Zimbardo himself got lost in role-playing? So did the lawyer? So did the parents? John Wayne" said it best, though. Before one can start to judge the actions of the people involved in the experiment, one must ask "What would I have done? Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

In the Basement at Stanford: Question 1

http://wheregoestime.blogspot.com/2009/04/question-1_17.html

In the Basement at Stanford. Philip Zimbardo's Stanford Prison Experiment: Knowledge Comes at a Price. 17 April, 2009. What police procedures were used during arrests, and how did these procedures lead people to fell confused, fearful, and disorganized. Social psychology explores how humans think about, influence, and relate to each other, and that's precisely what this experiment did right from the initial "arrest". The men were confused by the abrupt and unexplained arrests and by the policemen's.

whereGodtakesme | live. learn. laugh. love.

Live learn. laugh. love. There is no worth inside of these bones of mine. I am broken. I am burdened. But, there is a light of hope. I am reminded of it every day. Come to me all who are weary or burdened, and I will give you rest. (Matthew 11:28). When the blind came to Jesus, do you think they acted like they could see? When the lame came to Jesus, do you think they acted like they could get up and walk to Him? I believe the same will be done for those who have brokenness in their mind. Therefore, sinc...

Where Goes the River

Where Goes the River. Friday, December 30, 2011. One of the most common topics in current affairs discussions is economic inequality, the assertion that “over recent decades, the government has consistently favored the rich,” and that this inequality “pervades every corner of the United States and saps the strength of its democracy,” as described in a recent Foreign Affairs article by George Packer. With all of that, it's actually kind of surprising we have done any school at all! We're busy with math, spelling and handwriting (English print and Czech cursive) and spent quite a bit of tim...
