Just Another Day In Paradise. Monday, August 16, 2010. By Thursday night our excitement was bursting. I was so prepared. You could tell by the 70 pound hiking pack towering above my head. We were given two rules. Number one: Don't die. Number two: Don't go to jail. With that wisdom safely tucked in our minds, we set off for our adventure. In DC we were given one boarding pass. The gathering consisted of our gang and J's mother who came to help us pack and clean (and she's the reason why we can move cross country without killing each other). Monday, October 29, 2007. Fall chicken stew (think of this as a guideline). 3 pounds of chicken meat (already cooked). This can be two breasts, a breast, 2 thigh and leg meat or any other combination. The vegetables chopped in large chunks. 2 stalks of celery. 1 clove of garlic. Three large yukon gold potatoes. 1 cup of frozen peas. 1 teaspoon of thyme. Enough chicken stock and white wine to cover (about 4 cups). 1 tablespoon room temperature butter and 1 tablespoon of flour. Posted by DC Food Blog.
