Where the Hell is Cal?

Where the Hell is Cal? Cal is finally HOME.for now! Wednesday, December 24, 2008. I found a cheap one way ticket from Cairo to Tokyo. Let me say that it would be hard to find two more different cultures. To go from Egypt to Japan was a pretty big culture shock, but luckily I knew a few people in Japan who helped me ease into the style and culture of the country nicely. I always talk about "getting local" when I travel. We stayed at Kyoko's grandparent's house where we experienced the most traditional...

Where the Hell is Cal?: South Spain

http://www.whereiscal.com/2008/07/south-spain.html

Where the Hell is Cal? Cal is finally HOME.for now! Thursday, July 24, 2008. I spent the last week or so traveling around southern part Spain. I was able to stop off in 3 small towns to experience some local flavor after being in big city Madrid for a few days. I spent 4 nights in this small Spanish town which is known for having the Alhambra. We went out for drinks the first night which somehow turned into a meal as I learned that in Granada you get free tapas with your drink! Everyone I talked to said ...

http://www.whereiscal.com/2008_10_01_archive.html

Where the Hell is Cal? Cal is finally HOME.for now! Tuesday, October 28, 2008. I spent about a week exploring Greece on my own before I met up with a "friend" from NY.  Her and I enjoyed a magical week in the Greek islands spending the days riding our ATV to secluded beaches and the nights watching the sun set and eating delicious greek cusine.  This romantic getaway was a much needed break from the backpacking life I have now grown so acustomed to. Where the Hell is Cal? Cal is finally HOME.for now! Thursday, November 20, 2008. My Taxi Ride in Cairo. We finally arrived and I thanked the driver for the roller coaster ride with a two handed handshake bringing it up to my forehead in a gesture of "thank you for not killing me". Welcome to Cairo. Below is a short video I took of the Karnak Temple - the largest ancient religious site in the world which they are still excavating. Up Next - Japan! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Where the Hell is Cal? Cal is finally HOME.for now! Thursday, September 18, 2008. A city where the streets are canals and the cars are boats,. To give me better perspective). A good example of new world invading old world and can been seen in a video I took at the Coliseum. Not much interesting here except pizza, which was rumored to be invented here. I'll let the pictures do the talking. Up Next - Egypt (after Greece, Budapest and Vienna). Tuesday, September 16, 2008. Brussels and Some Issues. I decided...

Where the Hell is Cal? Cal is finally HOME.for now! Wednesday, May 28, 2008. Our two day trip to the Amazon jungle consisted of riding down the Amazon River, fishing for piranhas, watching pink dolphins, hanging out with native tribes people (which included blow gun practice), relaxing in a hammock, dealing with all kinds of exotic insects and playing with sloths, monkeys, snakes, tarantulas, ant eaters and a tapir. Traipsing through the Cherry Blossoms: August 2008

http://sandsblossominny.blogspot.com/2008_08_01_archive.html

Traipsing through the Cherry Blossoms. Our wanderlust in NYC. Thursday, August 28, 2008. My weekend in review. A little late, but better then never! Its already feeling a bit like fall. So we packed our sweatshirts. Well EBJ did - he always remembers those things. And off we went - amazing catch up dinner at John Scotts. With lobster rolls, too big steak samiches, mussels and wings. What are we going to do without those mussels all winter! Then home for a pillow fight (becoming quite the tradition).

Traipsing through the Cherry Blossoms: Fall

http://sandsblossominny.blogspot.com/2008/09/fall.html

Traipsing through the Cherry Blossoms. Our wanderlust in NYC. Monday, September 29, 2008. A perfect fall weekend. My first of this year. Rainy, but beautiful. Spent Friday enjoying a delicious dinner. I didn't have to cook (even better). A Saturday sleep in. Coffee, bacon, scrambled eggs with peppers and onions. Another delicious meal, not made by me. How lucky am I). Off to a football game - ugly weather, bright t-shirts. Glad to be back, one week off is just too much. A buddy walk across the street.

Traipsing through the Cherry Blossoms. Our wanderlust in NYC. Tuesday, February 3, 2009. It's all Greek to me. A shortened version of this piece was just published on the incredible website offmanhattan.com (to which this blog will soon link to! Four) and Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. So, for this Manhattanite, what better way to indulge in my romantic fantasies of all things Greek than an afternoon jaunt to Astoria, Queens? Directly next door to Yaya’s is Opa! Traipsing through the Cherry Blossoms. Our wanderlust in NYC. Sunday, July 20, 2008. Here I am in another airport, which, if I calculate it correctly, by the end of this trip on Wednesday, will make nineteen airport visits in one month (and two days). Washington, D.C. Washington, D.C. Hayden – Steamboat Springs. So, that’s why they call it “work.”. Traipsing through the Cherry Blossoms. Our wanderlust in NYC. Friday, January 2, 2009. Frack (forgive the length but hope you enjoy). 8220;It’s gotta suck to be Matt Frackelton,” I think reviewing my notes on his “character building” incidents of the last few years. But to Matt it would suck to be anything else. 8220;I was lucky enough to be raised white trash,” he says. To Frack, how is it not? Where is C?

Hell if I know. I’m standing not far from my home, on a small path that splits into 2, both routes heading uphill. There are a few other people here, all of them faceless dream characters. One of them tells me how some weird creatures come periodically to kill or take people, or something. I don’t think I ever saw them, but they seemed to be angels or something similar. Walking in the opposite direction amongst the people is an almost invisible figure, visible only by the light shimmering around it&rsquo...

Where in the World is Cade Elliott?

Where in the World is Cade Elliott? Wednesday, April 28, 2010. Hong Kong - April 15-16. The past few days I have been in Hong Kong. I went up to the top of Victoria Peak. It was in a cloud. The next day I went to Disneyland Hong Kong. It was a ton of fun! At night we had our last group dinner and everyone said goodbye. The next morning we took a fifteen hour plane trip to Newark and then a short flight back to Richmond. I had a stupendous time in China! Thursday, April 15, 2010. Friday, April 9, 2010.
