South of the Equator

South of the Equator. This is the true story of my adventures in learning Spanish and teaching English in South America. Monday, September 22, 2008. That's all, folks. Now that I'm home, that will be the end of this blog. I could continue writing about my daily life in Mill Hall, but I think I would get bored writing it, let alone reading it. I'm still uploading photos from the end of my travels. I'll also be tweaking some of my previous photos, now that I have that kind of technology. I learned more in ...

South of the Equator: T-A-N-G-O

South of the Equator. This is the true story of my adventures in learning Spanish and teaching English in South America. Thursday, September 11, 2008. Last night I went to my first tango lesson. I´m pretty terrible. I say this with the comfort of knowing that when I started with salsa, I was also pretty terrible. But the tango is not salsa. For many of us, that first class opened the door to a passion, an obsession, a new way of life, music that is pulled from the very depth of our souls. Thats all, folks.

South of the Equator: Lake Titicaca

South of the Equator. This is the true story of my adventures in learning Spanish and teaching English in South America. Monday, May 5, 2008. We took a traditional reed boat to the next part of the island, accompanied by two local girls, sisters, one of whom flashed me her panty-less bottom more than once. They impressed us by singing, even songs in English and French. Then, of course, they asked for propina. Val gave them cheetos. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). A Kiss from Maddalena. South of the Equator. This is the true story of my adventures in learning Spanish and teaching English in South America. Saturday, September 20, 2008. The long, long, long journey home. To give me my birthday gift- a copy of Stephenie Meyers'. Which I have been dying to get my hands on- so that I would have something awesome to read while I sat and sat and sat on airplanes and airports and more airplanes and airports. Sadly, this did not happen in real life. Instead, I found a copy of. Ha You have no idea.

South of the Equator: A Night at the Opera

http://whereiskelli.blogspot.com/2008/09/night-at-opera.html

South of the Equator. This is the true story of my adventures in learning Spanish and teaching English in South America. Monday, September 15, 2008. A Night at the Opera. There was no need to worry about dressing appropriately for the opera. It was certainly not a black tie event. First of all, the show started at 6pm, practically a matinee, especially in this town where dinner isn. 180;t until 10pm, and the nightclubs don´t get going until 2am. We sat practically in the rafters, but that didn. Subscribe...

South of the Equator: What´s in a Name? Plenty.

South of the Equator. This is the true story of my adventures in learning Spanish and teaching English in South America. Thursday, February 7, 2008. What´s in a Name? For the two readers I have left, (thanks, mom and dad, even though I know you´ll read anything I write and think it´s up there with. It´s been a very, very long week, and I´m only halfway through Thursday. Teaching got easier by the second day, but it´s exhausting (teachers are always overworked and underpaid, right? Note the time baby!
