danaleeling: Cubic bezier sine wave in SVG
http://danaleeling.blogspot.com/2015/07/cubic-bezier-sine-wave-in-svg.html
Musings and notes around and about learning. Wednesday, July 22, 2015. Cubic bezier sine wave in SVG. In the past I generated the Scalable Vector Graphics path for a sine wave by using a sine function and inputting x values. This summer I found that a cubic bezier could generate a cosine curve using just the points at the crest and trough, with control points at 0.1875*wavelength and 0.3125*wavelength. Those values were visually determined, not mathematically obtained. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

An exploration of mathematical models and flying disks form the core of laboratory fourteen. Vancyleen Wichep, Jerisse Salvador, Amabella Soram with disks. Laboratory fourteen explored the use of data to determine mathematical models and to test whether flying disks and rings outperform the theoretic performance of a non-flying object. Marlynn Fredrick, Natasha Edwin. If the disk or ring actually ...

Saturday, January 25, 2014. Guam and Black Swan Crazy Risk. A Black Swan event is something that is so improbable that it doesn't even register until it happens. It's an event that has an extreme impact, arrives as a surprise, is an outlier, appears unpredictable but is understood in hindsight. A big asteroid strike, or a solar storm powerful enough to knock out the electric grid, are examples of Black Swans. Some wars may be Black Swan events. It's a very accessible and interesting read.
