Street art and other photo wanderings from Phil Platt. Vans tour @ SouthBank Skatepark →. R3d Market and another visit to Brick Lane. September 2, 2013. Last Wednesday I met up with photographer friend Steve and showed him around some of the main street art sights in the broader Shoreditch area. Our first stop was R3d market at the end Rivington St. From the market we walked down Rivington St and down to the Brick Lane area, where I found a new Alex Senna. I was amused to see a guy walking a dog and carr...

Street art and other photo wanderings from Phil Platt. Thierry Noir – Jazz, an exhibition at Howard Griffin Gallery. I am a big fan of the cartoon characters and bright colours that inhabit the works of the well known street, and gallery artist, Thierry Noir. There is a wonderful exhibition of some of his new work in the Howard Griffin Gallery in Shoreditch until the end of July 2015. Well worth checking out. July 5, 2015. July 5, 2015. Street art and other photo wanderings from Phil Platt. Last chance to see – a bit of Camden disappearing. Sunday 25 January 2015 – Camden. The second in a two part series of recent London street art, this time from Camden. The Hawley Market runs along the side of the canal and is now all fenced off. There are a lot more huts painted than there was the last time I visited, maybe Captain Kris is showing what he thinks if the closure. It is also a shame to lose this from Gnasher as well. A door from D7606.

Street art and other photo wanderings from Phil Platt. Music never Lied to me. January 29 2016 Shoreditch. The talk was excellent, Kevin is an engaging speaker with some great stories. It did leave me deeply envious and with a plan to do more photography this year. There is also a lot less happening street art wise now, the gentrification and citification of the area is well under way so sadly a lot of the old walls and hoardings have gone. It is the area’s loss in my opinion. Like this one to start with!

Street art and other photo wanderings from Phil Platt. 8220;No Hope. Turn Back.” A street art walk in Shoreditch. Saturday 24 January 2015 Shoreditch. The cowboy painting by American artist El Mac has graced the side of Rockwell House since 2011 and is one of my favourite works of art in the area, it will be a shame to see it go though I guess the transitional nature of street art is one of its greatest facets. The 13 Coins piece is quite new. There are hoardings around the site, which have all been pain...

Part of Geo Art Cache. Saturday, 15 September 2012. Well done to patdhill. As by my reckoning on the 15th September 2012 you became the 100th geocacher to visit one of the WSI series caches! I'm afraid there is no prize for this but it does go to show how popular the series has been during its 16 months of existence. One or two of the cahes are suffering the work of the elements and will need attention soon but don't give up visiting them as they are all still there. Tuesday, 8 May 2012. Over the winter ...

Travels with Charlie and Gina in Phred. THE ULTIMATE DINOSAUR MUSEUM. At last we were ready for Drumheller’s attractions, but first we checked into an RV Park and then finally set out for the Royal Tyrrell Museum. And the skill with which they are displayed. Was, and probably still is, stunning. The Royal Tyrrell by far surpassed anything we saw on the dinosaur trail. Even though the museum was open late, we didn’t have time to see everything, so we returned the next day. Never would have known! That we ...
