Where the Old Men Plant Trees. A Journey of Hope in the Pine Barrens. I’ve been referred to as a hippie, a piney, and a sloth. (Once in a single breath). I’m nearly 27, undergoing a bout of unemployment, and engaged to a pretty great guy. I’m a Pine Barrens native, born and raised. I’m proud that these sugar sand trails have been the kind of friend that, even after seasons or years of neglect, I always return to as if nothing but a day has passed.
