Life in our little corner of the planet. Saturday, August 27, 2011. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Right next to the Echo Mountains in the heart of Phoenix lives our family of four. I'm Birdie and the author on this blog, unless Steve, my husband uncharateristically posts some day. Together, Steve and I are raising two beautiful children: Kai, who is almost 5, and Maryn who is 3. We love our life here together and almost daily tell each other how happy and content we are. Our little corner: More on renovations
http://lifeonourlittlecorner.blogspot.com/2010/10/more-on-renovations.html
Life in our little corner of the planet. Thursday, October 7, 2010. The last time I blogged, I had fallen in love with this house. Now I'm terrified it's not going to come together. Ever. Yesterday's storm, and the resultant ceiling damage and delays for cement pouring have dampened hopes further. Still, I can only see things getting better. Totally ripped up. The cement for the new front porch will be poured soon. I hope. The garage door has been taken elsewhere to get fixed up. Not sure where. Right ne...

Our little corner: July 2010
http://lifeonourlittlecorner.blogspot.com/2010_07_01_archive.html
Life in our little corner of the planet. Monday, July 5, 2010. July 4th weekend 2010. We've just come home from a most fabulous July 4th weekend. We rented a cabin in the pines of Mountainaire, AZ, just outside of Flagstaff. The weather was so refreshingly cool. It's such a pleasure to sleep with the windows open. We spent much of the weekend with Lorrie and her family. My kids absolutely adore hers and thankfully they seem to like ours a bit too! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile.

I was reading this story to Kai last night. At the end of the second telling (we go through stories a zillion times because there is always an "Again! His wise reply: "The one that floats! Life in our little corner of the planet. Monday, January 31, 2011. House Renovations Part 4: Kitchen Progression. I've tried really hard not to get too excited about this kitchen. I can't hold back any more. Take a look for yourself. I'm out of my mind excited! Thank goodness we're moving this weekend so I can get in there and cook up a storm! These first four photo were taken prior to demolition. These are actually quite nice quality cabinets. It was very dark and dated though. CAN YOU BELIEVE IT? Kai i...

Family. Travel. DIY. Advocacy. Capturing the Everyday. What I want to give: meaning. The next year we stood outside of Long’s Drug Store in Manoa Valley on the island of Oahu. I’ve been thinking a lot about what I want my kids to think of when Christmas is mentioned. When they begin their own families and their own traditions – what do I want to fill their Christmas memories? Why as a family?
