Where The Roads Take Me...

Bike Tour de Wilder Kerala. The good game she was, she immediately agreed to my plan and what followed was the craziest of bike rides I can ever imagine. It'd have been 6 in the evening when we stopped at a wayside tea stall for refreshment. I lit up a cigarette and savoured on the hot cup of tea when I realised that my money purse in my back pocket was missing! Anyways, we resumed our ride and after compromising around 42 (I lost count after a few! We got into the room, took turns under the shower and s...

Where The Roads Take Me...: November 2009

http://wheretheroadstakeme.blogspot.com/2009_11_01_archive.html

Away we went to the 'Princess Hills' - Kodaikanal. This is one trip I'd always cherish. It was the best bike trip of my life time till now. I wonder whether I'd ever enjoy such a ride again! Probably never. Ever again. The watch around my wrist said a three quarter past 8. We stopped at Palani for our breakfast which we had from a little road side restaurant. The hot dosas, the spicy sambhar and those hot spongy vadas… Ah! Another hour's ride and it took us to the gates of the resort hotel where we had a...

Where The Roads Take Me...: August 2009

http://wheretheroadstakeme.blogspot.com/2009_08_01_archive.html

I wondered why she was calling me at such an odd hour of the night. 8220;Hello,” I said sleepily over the phone. 8220;Sorry to be disturbing you at this hour. But I really need to talk this out to someone,” she said. Her voice quivered over the phone and I knew this was something important. 8220;Tell me. What is it? Just relax, ok?

Where The Roads Take Me...: September 2009

A bike ride to the peninsular tip of India. I wonder what the significance of this place is? I mean, why did Mahatma Gandhi. Wanted his ashes to be immersed here? Why did Swami Vivekananda. Travel all the way down to here, swim across the tumultuous sea to a rock away from the main land, do 3 days of meditation and had the "Vision of one India"? We as a nation have lost our individuality and that is the cause of all mischief in India. We have to raise the masses.". So, here I go -. But the major attracti...

Where the Robert Meets the Road | Travel and Life on the Open Road
