Old Delhi has some beautiful historic buildings and New Delhi is very similar to the architecture of parts of London but there is a sense of decay and lack of upkeep in all these places. We didn’t really feel unsafe, even with the fireworks, but the constant hassle from hawkers and beggars meant you had to develop a very thick skin and learn to ignore people who you actually felt really sorry for. Travelling To Places Unknown. Bali – Seminyak, Sanur and Ubud. January 8, 2017. We decided back in September to spend the festive period in Bali. We reckoned there wouldn’t be many opportunities in life to repeat this and also with its proximity to Australia it would probably have a more Christmassy feel. We decided not to pretend it was a normal Xmas day and go for a (very expensive) meal at a local hotel, instead we went to the Italian restaurant next door and had a lovely pasta meal! I LOVE the art.

Tuesday, January 26, 2010. Usually we rationalize that other people have so much going on, too, so how dare I ask anyone for help for fear of being an extra burden on them. As it worked out, David and Nathan delivered the dinner. I think Nathan was especially proud that he helped, excited to see a friend's house, and thrilled to be out with just his Daddy for a little while.
