Where would we be without…? In praise of ordinary things. August 23, 2010. Where would we be without coasters. Many a new idea have been scratched upon them. They keep your drink nice and tidy on the table or bar. You can even collect them! They are made out of all sorts of materials. I’ve had cardboard, cork, stone, aluminum, and bead ones. Companies advertise on them too. It’s nice to put your drink on a pedestal (albeit a short one). Long live coasters! October 19, 2010 at 9:01 am.

You can make soup, pie, muffins, donuts, coffee, pastries, butter and even beer with them. You can roast the seeds and season them as you like. My favorite pumpkin activity is carving them for Halloween. I love the squishy guts inside. I also like how the top gets burned from the candle inside. What a wonderful smell!
