132 ENDINGS. →. August 21, 2012. For me, Paris was time with family, and for my dad, it was a nostalgic return. But for my mom and sister, it was all new, and so we did what we do best: a hop-on, hop-off tour. The one thing I saw on this tour that was a) new to me and b) amazing was Les Invalides, a complex of buildings dedicated to the military history of France. The crowning glory, of course, would be Napoleon’s tomb, below the dome of a gilded chapel, where he rests next to his son.
