This is one of two dolls I made for the Houston Quilt Show. This first doll is my rendition of WENDY from PETER PAN. She is part of a series that my doll club, TAODA. Does every year, called Storybook Dolls. FOREST would be about 19" if she were standing. She is also sculpted from PAPER CLAY and covered with cloth.

Saturday, October 30, 2010. Here are 2 dolls that I worked on over the last year. The first doll is called Reluctance. She is a paper clay doll made over a wire armature. Reluctance. Is about 22" tall, if she were to be standing. This next doll is called Réalití. She is also a paper clay, stump body doll. She stands about 18" tall. Saturday, October 29, 2011. I have not for the life of me, been able to figure out what to call these "busts." Nothing clever or moving would come to mind. They are just busts. I was making doll heads of different ethnic groups. I felt horrible just to have them strewn about, begging me to make something of them. Nothing worse than looking over into the accusing eyes of a would-be doll, knowing that you have no intention of making a doll at that moment. So, the busts were born! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Friday, November 5, 2010. This is another version of Abundance that I made this summer. I had the honor of teaching her to a great group of women here in my neck of the woods! Of Houston kindly had me teach her as a class this fall. Abundance is about 18", and fully cloth. No paper clay this time! I think she is an enjoyable doll to make, because she is fairly easy to construct.and most of your time is spent on embellishing her, one of my favorite parts of doll making! August Show and Tell. So the dog days of summer must have started early for our club members! We had lots of club news to discuss, but only two ladies brought show and tell. (Maybe everyone else has projects in the works for next time! But the dolls we got to see were worth a whole meeting. This is Carlyn's fairy swinging on her rustic garden swing. This it the very special Matryoshka, because she prefer to stay at hands instead to be alone. She smiled only on these pictures which I made holding her in my hands. He brought lot of gifts for friends and beloveds ones. Kitty made after my own pattern. He's also cross stitched from two sides, very stable because of special bottom part. I made a few of them, but non of them weren't finished so far. Sc - single crochet. Sl sc - slip stitch. Ch - Chain stitch. There is no material specified for this toy, as you can use any thread or yarn you comfortable to work with. We are a small farmette, home to Mini Nubian goats, chickens, ponies and of course we wouldn't be complete without our dogs - located on Maryland's Eastern Shore, about an hour from Annapolis and the Bay Bridge. Our small herd is tested annually and is CAE, CL, Johnes and Brucellosis free. They are fed GMO free feed in an effort to provide my family with milk and dairy products as close to nature as possible.
