Sunday, 1 January 2012. Susan Aitchison Scholarship Fund. Damn it. I can't upload the annual report of the Fund. Here are some facts though. Last year it distributed £4,746. This was enough to support 16 students, who otherwise could not have gone to university/college. That's an average of £25 a month per kid for the duration of their courses. That's all it takes to bring them out of abject poverty and give them the chance of a useful and decent life. All the kids are working their whotsits off.

But still wherever we go people wave, blow kisses, kiss their thumbs and race the truck in bare feet at altitudes where just walking leaves some of our party breathless. October 31 2011 / strawberrynorman. Salzburg – statues, puppets & beer. I had been to Salzburg a couple of years ago on a girls’ trip (the boys went to Riga, Latvia) where the focus had been. The Sound of Music. 8211; we’d done the cheesy bus tour, complete with singalong and posing for. Photos. It was a lot of good, clean fun but I’d hardly seen any of the city so was quite happy to go back. Salzburg castle was fairly run-of-the-mill: nice views of the city, some chintzy old state rooms, an armoury etc.
