Ohne in physikalische Tiefen abzutauchen, möchte ich kurz die Technik und die Eigenheiten von weissen Leuchtdioden (LED) sowie deren Einsatz in meinen Lampen erörtern. Unterdessen gibt es von LUXEON Hochleistungs-LED in verschiedenen Formen, Farbtönen und Leistungen. Teilweise bereits mit Reflektor ausgerüstet, werden Öffnungswinkel von 10° erreicht die zu beachtenswerten Leuchtdichten führen. UF = 3.6 V@ 20 mA 4 cd @ 20° Öffnunswinkel. Imax = 30 mA. Tmax = 70°C. Preis ca. CHF 5.- /Stk.

Wie alle Dioden haben LED eine nichtlineare U/I-Kennlinie. Sie sollten daher nur mit Strombegrenzung betrieben werden. Bei grossen und dichten LED-Feldern ist zudem wegen der anfallenden Wärme u.U. nicht immer der maximal zulässige Betriebsstrom pro LED möglich.

Ausgehend von eigenen Beleuchtungsprojekten für den Einsatz in Höhlen, kam ich immer mehr dazu für meine Freunde und Arbeitskollegen batteriebetriebene Lampen verschiedenster Gattungen mit WEISSEN LED zu bestücken. Anscheinend haben ihnen meine Vorführungen gefallen!
