Mother of the WHAT?: Why this Blog was Started
http://motherofthewhat.blogspot.com/p/why-this-blog-was-started.html
Why this Blog was Started. The Young Mother Speech. Why this Blog was Started. In October of 2009 I was asked by the Indiana Chapter of American Mothers if I would be willing to represent Indiana Young Mothers at the 75th Annual American Mothers. National Convention. After dodging phone calls, praying and seeking counsel, I accepted the invitation. When that happened, (and after I could stand and then catch my breath) I instantly knew two things:. 1) I didn't deserve this title. I was already writing a b...

Mother of the WHAT?: Blessed to be a Blessing
http://motherofthewhat.blogspot.com/2011/08/blessed-to-be-blessing.html
Why this Blog was Started. The Young Mother Speech. Tuesday, August 30, 2011. Blessed to be a Blessing. Zach came home a few weeks ago and said Chris, one of the younger guys on the football team, (that he had been driving to and from practice all summer because his mom works). He wanted to blow him away through generosity. So Zach asked all of us how much we would each contribute; everyone in our family put money in the pot. It was neat to watch that happen. Then he texted his friend. Are you kidding me?

Mother of the WHAT?: Face Down
http://motherofthewhat.blogspot.com/2011/06/face-down.html
Why this Blog was Started. The Young Mother Speech. Thursday, June 2, 2011. I'd like to say I am still standing, but it wouldn't be true. I will be tomorrow, but tonight I am on the floor. A leader, a friend, our pastor received word that the tumor removed from his brain, that two weeks ago no one even knew was there, hasn't had the last word yet. Adoration. I feel humbled as I lay here knowing there is nothing I. Tomorrow I will stand back up. We must. Going to get up and we will. Join him in that.

Mother of the WHAT?: Set Apart
http://motherofthewhat.blogspot.com/2011/09/set-apart.html
Why this Blog was Started. The Young Mother Speech. Monday, September 5, 2011. Set apart from the everyday dishes. God has a thing about set. Ting people apart by His grace and for His work. But I don't think its exactly easy to be set apart - especially for our kids. I remember being a teenager, it was all about fitting in and not. Standing out. Being set apart can feel like being left out, and yet this is what I want for my kids. One of the tools I use to let them know they are set apart. Subscribe to:...

Mother of the WHAT?: Where are my glasses?
http://motherofthewhat.blogspot.com/2011/08/where-are-my-glasses.html
Why this Blog was Started. The Young Mother Speech. Thursday, August 18, 2011. Where are my glasses? I ask this question multiple times a day. I had perfect vision up until a few years ago, when reading glasses became helpful, and then more recently, necessary. When my kids need me to read something, write a check or sign something, the smart ones find me a pair of glasses first. (Note to kids: You're all smart, so quit trying to decide who I am talking about! August 18, 2011 at 9:51 PM. Slices of an Ord...

Mother of the WHAT?: Getting Up to Follow
http://motherofthewhat.blogspot.com/2011/06/getting-up-to-follow.html
Why this Blog was Started. The Young Mother Speech. Sunday, June 5, 2011. Getting Up to Follow. When I woke up the morning after. Hearing the pathology report of Stan's (our pastor) brain tumor, I thought I would feel better. I didn't. But I knew I was going to pray with some others that morning and there was hope in that.
