Friday, July 08, 2005. Why does Desktop Linux still suck? A few years ago I switched over to Linux on the desktop. The reason was simple - I was sick of Windows not behaving as it was supposed to, and I wanted to use a system which did as it was told. (Bear in mind Windows 2000 had only just hit the shelves). Now it's 2005. I've learned a heck of a lot about Unix by making that switch, and overall I don't regret it at all. But I'm sick of something. Be an easy problem to solve. I'd like to buy one.".

These creatures are by nature surprisingly clumsy, so things which make a lot of noise or are quite heavy for them tend to be dropped before the gremlins have finally made their exit. Usually they’re found two weeks later hidden in the sofa, by which time you’ve had replacement keys cut or ordered a new remote control. Or so it was thought. until recently.
