Homemade French Onion Dip. June 2, 2013. I couldn’t help but to stop in here to share this really delicious French Onion Dip that I made last weekend for our condo warming party/Dave’s 29th Birthday! Takes a little planning since you need to let the dip rest and chill overnight in the fridge but it is seriously worth the wait. Beyond delicious. I can’t wait to make it again. Continue reading →. December 27, 2012. Continue reading →. Zucchini Corn Fritters {and I’m back! July 15, 2012. 2 ears of corn.

Mussings of a Peace Corps Volunteer. Sunday, January 10, 2010. Parroquia Retreat to Quinta Linda. Just when I thought working with the Parroquia couldn't get better, they go and invite me on the annual staff and volunteer retreat! And it couldn't have come at a better time! Saturday, I was ready to roll for some good times with the good people of the Parroquia, guilt free and ready for my presentation and the conference! Don't forget that the Parroquia. Is the Parish, and the Foundation is a faith-based ...

Saturday, December 25, 2010. A few weeks ago, my host mother finally gave birth. She had a healthy baby boy, so here are some pictures of the baby and from the naming ceremony itself. Here is a picture of the baby at about 36 hours old. Thursday, December 23, 2010. Its the final countdown. Hey folks at home! Sorry for the long silence! Its been a busy emotion-filled, anxiety ridden, pretty fun couple of months. I guess the reason I’ve been so quiet is that it becomes difficult to write when I r...And now...

Monday, July 27, 2015. Team, Salmonella, Top Chef. Hey team, Whitney here. I know, it's been a while. It's been summer, baseball, swimming, more baseball, working, driving kids places they need to be, iced chai drinking, working some more, not enough traveling and endlessly feeding my kids. Gosh they eat a lot lately. But I love it. Because hello, I like to feed people. MOVING ON. What can I tell you about Ethan. hmmm. Well, he is working a lot, so that's fun. Good job Ethan. Monday, July 27, 2015. Speak...

Thursday, February 11, 2010. So some of the posts are out of order, but because I received some out of order it has been hard for me to figure out the weeks so I gave up on that. My companion, Sister Mongan, has two more months before she goes home. Crazy! This week we’ve learned how valuable the members are in this work. We’ve had a member fellowship with us at almost every lesson, and the lesson goes so much better than we could have done ourselves! I love you all! So today I hit 3 months in Indo!

September 5, 2008. Posted by wwarren31 under Uncategorized. Beyond the obvious differences in weather between the 4 or 5 seasons in Japan, each season is also known for certain foods (eating seasonal was a necessity and a way of life here long before it became back in vogue in the US). Mushrooms, chestnuts, apples and saury are famous fall foods (try saying that 5 times fast) for example. One big spring food is. Or mountain vegetables (the same. Which is how it’s called in Japanese). What. June 21, 2008.

Whitney's Adventures in Laos. Just another WordPress.com site. I have now been home for two weeks. That means that I’ve been gone from Laos for 3 weeks. In some ways it seems like no time has passed since I’ve left home, and in other ways it seems like I’ve been gone forever. So many people have been asking me the usual question of, So how was Laos? I left Laos early Tuesday morning (July 19. Now to answer the big question that I’m sure everyone is wanting to ask me.Now What? At 7am I will be getting on ...

Tuesday, June 2, 2009. Madagascar 2: Escape to Africa.then the US. I find it humorous that on my flight home to the US, that I watched a cartoon titled: "Madagascar 2: Escape to Africa" because that is in essence what I did! And so here I am. I am officially a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer with all of it's rights and privileges and I have decided that my taste of volunteer life in Mada was not enough. After about 2 months being home, I am on my way to ECUADOR! The things I did in Madagaskara are amazing:.
Whitney's Moroccan Adventure
Sunday, November 8, 2009. How Celine Dion Changed my World. I was joking and laughing about this cultural anomaly with other volunteers the other day when I received the inspiration for this blog post. It occurred to me that this, and many other aspects that are frustrating at times, are what make life here so entertaining for me, and they will probably be the same little details that I will miss the most once my service in Morocco is done. Tuesday, August 18, 2009. Blessings of God be Upon You. Currentl...
