Living A Dream

August 10, 2015. It has been a great year for the fruit trees. Or let's just say that they produced a lot of fruit. The peaches are nearing the end, after a month of snatching one walking by the counter where they were waiting consumption or freezing, or walking by the trees on my way to the coop. It is the second year for the pears. Not all of them are bearing, but as I was the one setting them back in development, I still am patient. June 18, 2015. Native animals don't care. Living A Dream: March 2015

http://whoadammit-livingadream.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html

March 31, 2015. Of mice and Roadie. Yesterday afternoon the young road runner was back in the chicken yard again. Why is this suddenly happening? I think we have a theory. Here is Roadie with a gift for his/her mate, making an offering with the characteristic coo-coo sound. March 30, 2015. Who did I find on the roost in the chicken coop this morning, cool as a cucumber? March 23, 2015. It is not that easy to find nurseries that carry native vegetation, after all are they not "weeds"? But I found some and...

Living A Dream: June 2015

http://whoadammit-livingadream.blogspot.com/2015_06_01_archive.html

June 18, 2015. It is hot. It is dry. It is breezy. It is not my favorite time of year. But I am not complaining. Honest. Here it is only a couple of weeks a year that it is not fun to be outside; I have lived in a place where it was the other way around. So we are up early, hike, bike, garden, do chores and are inside by 9 am. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile. If you talk to the animals. They will talk to you. Living A Dream: April 2015

http://whoadammit-livingadream.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html

April 28, 2015. A lovely day in the desert after 0.7 inches of rain on Sunday. Plants are happy, happy. But what I really wanted to show off is this. Spectacular, and it always blooms in honor of Kath whose birthday was a few days ago. April 23, 2015. April in the desert. April 22, 2015. I hate pulling up plants. They have always done their stuff whether they are edibles or not, so the least we can do is honor them by enjoying them and sharing. Little goes to waste: the horses enjoyed extra carro...It is...

And being from the Pacific Nothwest was it hard to get used to the change in climate?

Looking east from our ranchette, south of Old Pearce AZ. Monday, September 30, 2013. Yucca profiles and a couple of flowers still in bloom. I finally figured out why I was having trouble posting on my blog, it only seem too work with Google Chrome! Well at-least I can write something now! A large trucking yucca that is only semi-hardy here in my garden. They will live through mild winters here but need to be covered most winters. Looking east from our ranchette, south of Old Pearce AZ. Monday, January 20, 2014. The warmest, driest January I have seen in Shoshone. The never ending story. More rocks, more dirt, more plants, more pain, and much love! This dirt hill I built years ago, but just now starting to rock it in. Last year it started to erode after a heavy rain and so the decision for the rockery. And the start of a driveway that one day may end up at the garage that does not exist. More trails, but almost done. Not sure if t...

From the Garden Bench. Friday, May 1, 2015. Why One has Insurance . or. This is SO How I Did Not Want to Spend my Day Off! Remember our new - well, nearly new - hardwood floors? We had them installed just over four years ago. [Here]. They looked a lot like this . Two evenings ago Mitchell heard water dripping . Turned out to be the hot water line from the water heater to the kitchen sink. And, it was gushing, not dripping! Pulling up the warped boards. Is that even a word? Sunday, April 26, 2015. We made...

From the Garden Bench. Sunday, April 19, 2015. It started off simply enough. Things are coming up nicely now. The plum bloomed last week and is already gone. Lilacs and wisteria are blooming next door. The dogwoods are open and the azaleas right behind them. The viburnum coming out. All in all, things are looking good and the weather has finally moved into spring-mode. Can you see where some critter has eaten the blooms, but left the leaves and stems? Nice clean teeth marks! Azaleas and a hosta. 66 Squar...

http://fromthegardenbench.blogspot.com/2015/06/the-to-do-list-for-inside.html

From the Garden Bench. Saturday, June 27, 2015. The To Do List for Inside. In April, my office looked like this:. OK It was a mess, but i could run a small corporation without getting up except to file. There's nothing I can say. Mitchell never met a horizontal surface that he didn't love. As a double office it has served us well - first, just a place for each of us to settle to surf the Web, or pay bills, or write letters (ok, email). You know, just stuff,. For a couple of months i used a folding table.

From the Garden Bench: A Quiet Sunday Morning ... You Know Where

http://fromthegardenbench.blogspot.com/2015/07/a-quiet-sunday-morning-you-know-where.html

From the Garden Bench. Sunday, July 12, 2015. A Quiet Sunday Morning . You Know Where. After 10 days of blistering mid-90's with high humidity (good weather to stay inside and curl up with a book), it was in the 60's this morning and the garden was the perfect place to be. I love to get out there before the first direct rays of the sun hit the garden. I'm lucky that a line of very tall trees two yards over give me an extra 20 minutes of shade before the sun crests them. The first dahlias bloomed this wee...

From the Garden Bench. Saturday, May 16, 2015. Ding, Dong the Pond is Gone! You remember the pond . that cool oasis that I dug in 2007 so that Mitchell would have a nice place to recuperate from knee replacement surgery. The place he could not get to because he was not allowed to walk on grass for three months. That place. Pond - July 2009. When it was first created, there was a crabapple tree nearby that provided shade for a glider so that one had a place to sit and enjoy the fish and the water lilies.
