Overlapping Run: Quarter Finals - Recaps
http://overlappingrun.blogspot.com/2007/09/quarter-finals-recaps.html
Monday, September 24, 2007. Quarter Finals - Recaps. At the end of the day" (actually two days), all the group winners advance to the semi-finals. Germany v North Korea. Germany took advantage of their opportunities and North Korea did not. Simple as that. Not an overly impressive outing for the defending champions but the scoreline shows that North Korea, for all its great work at this World Cup, is still a bit aways from true championship form. Not much though. Germany 3 North Korea 0. USA 3 England 0.

Overlapping Run: June 2008
http://overlappingrun.blogspot.com/2008_06_01_archive.html
Monday, June 23, 2008. Solo gets her due as she gets Olympic nod. ESPNsoccernet - US Soccer - Solo selected for Olympics, Scurry left off roster. Don't get me wrong. I have the utmost respect for Brianna Scurry. As a fellow UMASS Alum, I was proud to see her make those saves in the world cup Penalty Kick shootout (more famously remembered for Brandi Chastain's shirt removal.but without Scurry, Chastain doesn't have the chance to be the hero/cover girl of Sports Illustrated). Overlapping Run: Semi Final #2 - What to Expect
http://overlappingrun.blogspot.com/2007/09/semi-final-2-what-to-expect.html
Wednesday, September 26, 2007. Semi Final #2 - What to Expect. Another will be how the USA defense copes with the play making and goal scoring abilities of Marta. Past USA v Brazil matches have usually turned into physical battles and that could be the case again as both defenses will probably be marking players very closely. This means that Wambach and Marta will draw plenty of attention and probably fouls close to the goal. USA 2 Brazil 2 - USA advancing on penalties. Posted by JT Soccer. After Two Rou...

Saturday, September 22, 2007. Quarter Finals - What to Expect. Germany v North Korea. Germany 2 North Korea 0. At this point, I'd say yes. England 2 USA 1. Hard to pick against a quality team playing on their home field but China looks still to be rebuilding. Norway has already restocked for the most part and will not succumb to the crowd fervor. Norway 3 China 2 in a thriller. Posted by JT Soccer. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). The Final - What to Expect. Semi Final #2 - Recap. Semi Final #1 - Recap.

From Twelve Yards: January Jersey Count
http://fromtwelveyards.blogspot.com/2010/02/january-jersey-count.html
American soccer with a Southern accent. Tuesday, February 2, 2010. January was a slow month. I'm going to go ahead and blame the cold weather for that- really, there were only a couple days where it was warm enough to actually wear short sleeves, but I did see other people wearing jerseys so I'm going to actually add to the count this month. February will probably be slow as well, but whatever. Arsenal 2 (Fabregas 1,me). USA 1 (Bradley, me). Real Madrid 1 (me). Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

From Twelve Yards: on atlanta's selection as a bid city
http://fromtwelveyards.blogspot.com/2010/01/this-afternoon-atlanta-was-named-as-one.html
American soccer with a Southern accent. Tuesday, January 12, 2010. On atlanta's selection as a bid city. We've got the support. Over 14,000 people signed the GoUSABid petition for Atlanta. The only city with more signatures? Seattle, with over 19,000 (and I've got a strong feeling the Sounders had a lot to do with that). The Georgia Youth Soccer Association made a strong push for people to sign the petition and make a donation to the GoUSABid committee. Did anyone else do that? January 12, 2010 at 7:23 PM.

From Twelve Yards: on the (personally) awesome soccer month of march
http://fromtwelveyards.blogspot.com/2010/03/on-personally-awesome-soccer-month-of.html
American soccer with a Southern accent. Tuesday, March 9, 2010. On the (personally) awesome soccer month of march. This month is shaping up to be an excellent month for me on the soccer front. MLS is (supposed to be, at least) starting up again, and that makes me happy. But it's not just that. Let's start at the beginning. I got the new USMNT away jersey in the mail last Thursday (along with a free Jabulani mini replica ball! Finally, I will be going to my first "MLS" games in 10 days!

From Twelve Yards: October 2009
http://fromtwelveyards.blogspot.com/2009_10_01_archive.html
American soccer with a Southern accent. Wednesday, October 7, 2009. Some trends I noticed this month were that on Champions League gamedays, many students (like myself) wear jerseys for their Champions League teams. I saw the same guy two days in a row wearing two different Barcelona jerseys- Iniesta the first, Ibrahimovic the second. I have still yet to see anyone else on campus wearing a USMNT jersey. Arsenal 5 (Fabregas 1 (me). Barcelona 4 (Messi 1, Iniesta 1, Ibrahimovic 1, Ronahdinho 1).

American soccer with a Southern accent. Wednesday, September 16, 2009. I know we haven't been seeing a lot of each other lately. I mean, I know you've been busy on international break, and I've had my schoolwork and a couple of Georgia Tech football games to keep me busy, but I think it's time we had a talk.
