Grits Gone Green: June 2010
http://gritsgonegreen.blogspot.com/2010_06_01_archive.html
Because "Southern cooking" and "healthy living" don't have to be mutually exclusive terms. Wednesday, June 2, 2010. Tomato Time Down South. No matter how many "you alls" fall out your mouth, or how much you love your mama, or how faithfully you root for the Tide, you're not a true Southerner unless you've planted, cultivated and picked your very own crop of sweet, sun warmed tomatoes. That's about it. By Memorial Day, I'm gathering up to a dozen vine ripened tomatoes each day. Fresh off the Vine. About J...

Grits Gone Green: Neighborly Mac & Cheese
http://gritsgonegreen.blogspot.com/2010/05/neighborly-mac-cheese.html
Because "Southern cooking" and "healthy living" don't have to be mutually exclusive terms. Sunday, May 2, 2010. Neighborly Mac and Cheese. Apparently, there is a saturation point, somewhere beyond the age of 80, for church dinners on the ground, feeding the providentially hindered, and wondering where the Sam Hill your favorite Corning casserole dish went.). I wanted to power up the protein and cut down the fat for Fred, so here's what I came up with:. Fred's Super Protein Mac and Cheese Souffle'. Equal ...

FOUR Sooners living high in the clouds: June 2012
http://milehighsooners.blogspot.com/2012_06_01_archive.html
FOUR Sooners living high in the clouds. Monday, June 11, 2012. We can mark one more item off of our "Colorado bucket list". going to a Meadow Lark Farm dinner. I think that it is the most difficult dinner reservation to obtain in all of Colorado! The dinner was held outside of an organic farm in Lyons, Colorado. The table was set by a river under the largest cottonwood tree that I have ever seen. The setting was beautiful, the weather could not have been better, and the food was deeeee-lishious! And a po...

FOUR Sooners living high in the clouds: January 2013
http://milehighsooners.blogspot.com/2013_01_01_archive.html
FOUR Sooners living high in the clouds. Sunday, January 20, 2013. It is January and if you live in Denver and are a "mile high sooner" that means one thing. Stockshow season baby! Our first stop was the petting zoo where my first encounter was a goat with the most beautiful name. Gretchen;). Lorelei was grinning from ear to ear with all of the animals. She is truly an animal lover:). But daddy should have told her to pet their ears and not their bottoms;). She cannot wait for her next rodeo!

Grits Gone Green: July 2010
http://gritsgonegreen.blogspot.com/2010_07_01_archive.html
Because "Southern cooking" and "healthy living" don't have to be mutually exclusive terms. Wednesday, July 7, 2010. When my birthday rolls around, Greg usually brings home a cake from Mon Delice. The fabulous French bakery just across the bridge. Sometimes, my best friend Sally (there she is in the photo with her Triumphe du 2009) trots over with one of her delectable concoctions. But every once in a while, I get a hankering to bake my own birthday cake. Sweet Southern Corn Cake. Add, one at a time:.

This past weekend we went down to the Royal Gorge train for a special train that was headed for the North Pole to pick up Santa:). The kids ready with their train tickets before boarding the train. you can barely see one of the engines lit up with Christmas lights in the background. It was a very festive train! All of the kids on the train wore their pajamas:). And here is one ExCiTeD passenger! Both kids must hav...
