http://brucetrail.wholemap.com/hike15-barrie-anne/index.shtml
Hike north of Barrie, Ontario at Anne Street and Carson Road. We often pass a trailhead at Anne Street North and Carson Road, just north of Barrie, and this weekend we decided to stop and see what the trails were like there. In mid October there was still a lot of yellow in the forest, and on a sunny Sunday there were lots of people out with their kids. Or grab some water, your hiking shoes, compass, GPS, and camera and take a hike! Location and details of the hike:. From the south (Barrie):. In October ...

Bruce Trail - Niagara Glen Nature Reserve and the Southern Terminus
http://brucetrail.wholemap.com/hike7-niagaraglen/index.shtml
Bruce Trail hike - Niagara Glen Nature Reserve and the Southern Terminus. While not part of the Bruce Trail itself, it seems a fitting southern-most hike. What could be more famous on the Niagara Escarpment than Niagara Falls itself? I've designed this page to be simple with no pictures on it so that you can print a copy and take it with you. The pictures are linked at each stage, with a camera icon. And are all contained on the pictures of Niagara Glen Nature Reserve and the Southern Terminus. The first...

Hike - Credit Valley, Scotsdale Farm, and Bennett Heritage sidetrail
http://brucetrail.wholemap.com/hike14-hell-holes/index.shtml
Bruce Trail hike - Credit Valley, Scotsdale Farm, and Bennett Heritage sidetrail. It often seems like my most recent hike is my favourite hike, and this is no exception. Not far from Toronto, this area has a number of trails and sidetrails, so you can pick and choose according to how much time you have. While the escarpment edge isn't as dramatic here as it is in other locations, there are wonderful views, relatively deep forest, and a number of beautiful streams. Location and details of the hike:. Take ...

Bruce Trail - Hilton Falls Conservation Area
http://brucetrail.wholemap.com/hike9-hiltonfalls/index.shtml
Bruce Trail hike - Hilton Falls Conservation Area. This is a very long hike if you do the entire thing. It took me just over 7 hours, with only reasonable stops to admire the sights along the way. You could cut the hike in roughly half by walking along the road in the middle of the hike but the road is about 3km long itself, and not all that interesting. And are all contained on the pictures of Hilton Falls Conservation Area. Or grab your hiking shoes, compass, GPS, and camera and take a hike! As I said,...

Biking the Tiny Beaches rail trail outside Elmvale north to Penetanguishene
http://brucetrail.wholemap.com/hike12-tinytrail/index.shtml
Biking the Tiny Beaches rail trail outside Elmvale north to Penetanguishene. This page is a bit different than the other hike pages here, as it descibes an old railway line that has been converted to a multi-use trail (hiking, biking, snowmobile, etc.). There is no need to describe the various turns or markings as the trail is very easy to follow. Please send us any comments/corrections to brucetrail [at] wholemap.com Click here to return to the main page. Or you trail bike and take a ride! Once you arri...

Bruce Trail hike - Speyside forest, Limehouse Conservation Area, and the Hole in the Wall
http://brucetrail.wholemap.com/hike11-speyside/index.shtml
Bruce Trail hike - Speyside forest, Limehouse Conservation Area, and the Hole in the Wall. You'll see the escarpment up close in the middle of green forests, cross many small creeks, hike through a corn field or two, see the remains of an old mill along rapids, and climb down two ladders. You'll have to cross a couple of busy roads, and even in October the field was pretty hot, but overall well worth it. Or grab lots of water, your hiking shoes, compass, GPS, and camera and take a hike! Turn right (east)...

http://brucetrail.wholemap.com/hike16-hockley-valley/index.shtml
Bruce Trail hike - Hockley Valley Provincial Nature Reserve and Tom East Side Trail and Glen Cross Side Trail. The Hockley Valley, just north-east of Orangeville, Ontario, is a beautiful area, and right in the centre is the Hockley Valley Provincial Nature Reserve. My first visit was back on August 11th, 1999, and eleven years and one month to the day I returned just recently, on Sept 11th, 2010. The hike offers lots of rolling hills, a varied forest, and ravines with rivers and bridges. Continue to the ...
