Hello to the know...: June 2013
http://hellototheknow.blogspot.com/2013_06_01_archive.html
Hello to the know. June 26, 2013. My first big project! A few years ago my mom, in all her kooky wisdom, picked up a nice looking piece of furniture headed to the garbage heap from one of our neighbors in the 'hood. Great find, mom! But there was one drawback: it was golden oak. Bright, glossy, and entirely 1980's and I knew it had to go. I began the plan with my dad for the spring: "we" would sand and refinish the piece. We" meaning me with my dad as manager/supervisor. Feed me, Becca! Measuring tapes a...

Hello to the know...: August 2013

Hello to the know. August 5, 2013. Summer catch-up, Part Two! With the month of June having flown by, July was going to give me no reprieve! Over the 4th holiday, I flew to Michigan with Tanner and his family for a fun and lake-filled week. Excellent weather, great company, fantastic food and learning secret family recipes proved to be a great way to spend the 4th. Not to mention the 280* view of incredible fireworks all along the lakefront. I like being around people with money. We made it nowhere.

Off I go with my sister from another mister! And it was fun! Our home for the DC leg of our trip. Visiting the Capitol building. Best map readin...

http://hellototheknow.blogspot.com/2014_04_01_archive.html
Hello to the know. April 29, 2014. Where people work hard to go slow. Back to Florida, the land of snowbirds and mean yankees; The home of people with no class or respect for others and no happy waves and "howdy"'s. It's tough to live there, tough to visit, tough to leave because of my good friend, Carrie, her boys (all three), and her sis and BIL (and the animals, can't forget the animals). This wasn't just a vacation, it was a workout-acation (what? Inbetween workout #3 and 4. Newfound love = zumba!

Hello to the know. August 12, 2014. One giant step forward for Becca-kind. Meet my new home! Check out 'dem plaid curtains! This is now my favorite wall. Back rooms: Sitting room and breakfast nook! Gotta give love to my favorite spot in the house. I LOVE BUILT-INS! I surely plan on painting THAT over. Very anti-climactic. The fridge has a nook behind that wall on the left. Each room has two closets, one of which is the door on the left. It has lots of shelves, which is great for storage! Oh, the joys!

Hello to the know. April 15, 2015. The American Triangle, Ireland, Part 3. Let me take a step back to our day of imbibement. Tanner and I had planned to go to Cork on Sunday and so prepared accordingly by going to the station to purchase advance tickets. We strolled into the station near our B&B, and the one we would leaving from the next morning for our island tour, and went to the ticket window. I asked politely for tickets to Cork and he goes, no trains running on Sunday. Oh, really? I immediately loo...

Hello to the know. February 26, 2015. The American Triangle, Edinburgh, Scotland. Hello green landscapes and rolling hills and adorable cottages, we're in Scotland! 1) Traveling by train is fun. 2) It's also convenient and relaxing. 3) You get to see more of the country than you otherwise might! I am a huge proponent of train travel! We arrived in Edinburgh in the afternoon and were graciously picked up by our homeowner whose apartment we had rented for the few days we would be in town. The day proved mu...

Hello to the know. March 30, 2015. The American Triangle, Ireland Part 1. We last left our invigorated travelers on a train from Inverness back to Edinburgh, but only briefly, before they hopped an afternoon flight to Dublin. Just as in all previous cities to this point, the skies opened up and cried for the loss of these two Americans as they waved goodbye. Bye, bye Scotland I WILL see you again. Things that weren't any different:. Bright and sunshiny daaaay! Can I haz plate for souvenir, please? We too...
