North by Northwest: House Tour
http://nickandkenzie.blogspot.com/p/house-tour.html
Did you know it rains in Oregon? I wanted to introduce you to our home since so much of what is on this blog relates to remodeling. This will, of course, be a changing work in progress page - Check back often for updates and changes! And no, I did not spruce up the house for the tour - this is a REAL. Lets start with the Entryway. I am standing in the archway to the living room - to the left is the front door - in front and slightly to the right is the hallway. On to the LIVING ROOM. Micorfiber sofa and ...

North by Northwest: Preschool and the push for academics
http://nickandkenzie.blogspot.com/2015/01/preschool-and-push-for-academics.html
Did you know it rains in Oregon? Tuesday, January 27, 2015. Preschool and the push for academics. I have been struggling to figure out what to do for preschool in the coming years. Preschool, in my mind, is a time for kids to play and learn thru play. It is time for them to learn fine (and gross) motor skills thru all kinds of play, art, music, etc. Why do kindergartners need to read? And why do we believe the stuff we are testing is the "right" stuff for kids to know? And while I understand that literac...

North by Northwest: That last post? Survival
http://nickandkenzie.blogspot.com/2015/06/that-last-post-survival.html
Did you know it rains in Oregon? Wednesday, June 3, 2015. Remember that last post? Survival, friends. Survival. Today I put Theo in the Lille baby buckle carrier and Gentry in the stroller with an apple at swim. Because when you have 3 that are 3 and under, you survive. And that post that preceded this one just doesn't even matter. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). A Whole New Ballgame. From Sydney with Love. Matt And Missie - A Story of Two. The Dale Family Four.

North by Northwest: May 2015
http://nickandkenzie.blogspot.com/2015_05_01_archive.html
Did you know it rains in Oregon? Wednesday, May 6, 2015. I need to write about so many things. Theo's birth, for example. But today something else is on my mind and I wonder if other moms struggle with this or if it is just me. I really struggle with these items. Are they convenient now but create other issues later? Same with the swing and bouncy seat, etc. A baby wants to be with mom and yet it seems like we are always trying to find a device to "babysit" our kids and keep them happy while we do ot...

Did you know it rains in Oregon? Thursday, January 30, 2014. When he goes to bed at night, he gives you a kiss and says "kiss", says "honk" and honks your nose, and says "hug" and gives you a hug. When he is in the bath will scoot over and say "Gaanty too" (Gentry too) and pat the spot next to him. Thinks bubbles are ice and says "ice". Confuses hot and cold. When it is really cold he will say "hot" sometimes. Likes Wall-E, Toy Story I,II,III, Cars I,II, Baby Einstein, Ice Age I,II,III,IV. Still smiles a...

North by Northwest: September 2014
http://nickandkenzie.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html
Did you know it rains in Oregon? Friday, September 26, 2014. My boys at 3 and 16 months. I find it so interesting having 2 boys 18 months apart. It's so fun to see all the ways in which they are similar and the many more ways in which they are different. It blows my mind on a daily basis how, two boys, from the same parents and so close together can be so very different. Thursday, September 25, 2014. Oh my - where does the time go! Should I worry that we aren't potty trained? So what are we up to lately?
