NotJustAHatStand: How To Use Sainsburys Self Service Check-out
http://notjustahatstand.blogspot.com/2009/12/how-to-use-sainsburys-self-service.html
People say life is the thing, but I prefer reading*. How To Use Sainsburys Self Service Check-out. Assess the queue at the main till, and weigh this against the number of items in your basket (3). Decide that scanning three items at the Self Service check-out can't possibly take longer than waiting in that queue and, with a frisson of trepidation, make your way to the Self-Service lane. Place your purple spotty shopping bag in the bagging area, as directed, so that the machine can 'verify your bag'.

January 1, 2013. Happy New Years to everyone and happy 2013! Firda and I decided to stay in last night and just hang out. We ended up watching the movie Mr. Nobody (which is an interesting movie with a quantum mechanic bend to it – I’m still scratching my head about it). We stayed up till Midnight and then it was off to bed. Well I better go start interacting with the new year! Maybe I will post more this year? Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays. Happy Birthday, Queen Victoria. Happy Day After Canada Day.

Absence | Blue Goo Ate My Mom
http://forestpirate.ca/archive/absence
February 1, 2011. I know everyone feels it. The feeling of loss – whether for a person who has passed away or someone who you care for but your two paths have diverged. I’ve had this feeling several times in the past couple of weeks. I’ve had dreams about people who I use to be friends with or who I went to school with. When I wake up I wonder what they are up to, if they are happy, what type of person they are and if they ever think about me. Either way. Just thinking and missing. Next Post ». Spidubic:...

NotJustAHatStand: Domestic, um, Harmony?
http://notjustahatstand.blogspot.com/2009/11/written-15th-july-2007-boy-and-i-have.html
People say life is the thing, but I prefer reading*. Domestic, um, Harmony? Written 15th July 2007. The Boy and I have been a picture of domestic bliss today. We got up early and had coffee and croissants outside in the sunshine, then while I washed the dishes he went to Homebase to buy a edge trimmer. When he came back he mowed the lawn, while I did some weeding and raked up the leaves from the tree in our garden that thinks autumn lasts from October to August. After finishing the kitchen, I go outside ...

NotJustAHatStand: September 2006
http://notjustahatstand.blogspot.com/2006_09_01_archive.html
People say life is the thing, but I prefer reading*. Wednesday, September 27, 2006. We moved into the new house successfully last week, and I love it. LOVE. IT (but more on that later). This is just a quick post to reassure my reader that I've not given up on blogging forever, and that normal service will soon be resumed. I had all last week off work, and have come back to the most. So I am currently writing this at work, shuffling papers every couple of lines so my boss thinks I'm working. I am harbouri...

NotJustAHatStand: Cheery Bus Man
http://notjustahatstand.blogspot.com/2009/11/cheery-bus-man.html
People say life is the thing, but I prefer reading*. Written 15th February 2007. This morning I was driven to work by what may be the Cheeriest Bus Driver Ever In The World, Ever. I got on, and he trumpeted 'Good Morning Dear! Next stop, Haymarket.'. I don't know if this was some kind of experiment Lothian Buses were doing, combining commuter transport with guided tours, or if this man was just eager to help. Either way, I liked it. But I'm glad he doesn't do that route every day. I wonder if thats that ...

NotJustAHatStand: August 2006
http://notjustahatstand.blogspot.com/2006_08_01_archive.html
People say life is the thing, but I prefer reading*. Wednesday, August 30, 2006. I saw a number of signs on my lunchtime stroll today, that the Edinburgh Festival season is coming to an end. There was a distinct absence of jugglers, pantomime cows, spontaneous singing (well, unless you happen to be passing the Grassmarket), period costume and hippies with tambourines walking barefoot along Princes Street singing kum-bay-ah. The ginormous purple cow. Beetlejuice, beetlejuice, beetlejuice! I spoke to the e...

People say life is the thing, but I prefer reading*. Written 20th November 2007. 207 am on Saturday. Other people might be staggering home from the pub, or getting some action. I have just finished one book. And I'm just about to put the light out when I see At Large and At Small: Confessions of a Literary Hedonist. On my bedside table. It's a collection of essays on various topics. I think to myself that I'll just have a quick look at the contents page and see what kind of topics these might be. View my...
