Monday, June 9, 2014. One month and then some. It's so hard to believe that our little son has been with us for almost 5 weeks. The days really do fly by. We had a very busy month in 'baby land'. All you mama and papas know the time warp new babies bring. So here is a small fraction of the footage of the past month or so with our sweet little man, Eben Freeman:. My mom came to visit for a few weeks.what a wonderful help she was! She surely adores her first grandchild. Three generations of Straders.

Wednesday, January 8, 2014. This winter has been so different from last year, one being that we actually see the snow falling from the sky. Last winter, we awoke to snow already lying peacefully on the ground. This year, we can actually say 'look! But there is surely something about snow that is so whimsical. Tuesday, November 26, 2013. We had some fun last weekend at the Brooklyn Renegade Craft Fair. Tim's cousin Hannah, who also resides in NYC now, joined in. Good food, a few good gift finds, and the infamous Magbooth. Monday, November 18, 2013. For my birthday my mom gave me a Kombucha kit. Both Tim and I were very excited! Monday, August 25, 2014. I recently brought home some books from the library for Eben. I never thought of checking out books for a baby.but he is so loving it! Such a great idea. He's also getting super strong these days. (and killin us with his looks! Tim likes to play a little game called 'strong man' with Eben. Most of the time it ends with Eben gnawing on Tim's hand. Monday, August 19, 2013. Holding tight to summer. Tim and I have been making the most of our summer. This leaves little room for internet time! Here are some noteworthy memories to share:. A visit home to my dear Kentucky:. 4th of July: Hot Dog eating contest. At Coney Island. Yes, it was epic. And our friend Dyck, who came with us to the contest has sadly moved away from the city. Monday, July 7, 2014. Happenings in the 2nd month. The month of June was Eben's 2nd month of life. With that, Tim celebrated his first Father's Day! Because babies make you go with the flow, our planned trip to Brighton Beach had to be postponed. Eben decided to grow exponentially that day and eat.and eat.and eat and sleep all day. So a nice walk through Prospect Park happened instead. The water did feel really good on my feet, being the hottest day of the year so far. Tim even went for a short swim!

Monday, April 21, 2014. So yes, there is a baby in my belly. Almost a fully cooked baby, who is welcome to come anytime he wants (though mama hopes sooner than later). I've slowed down quite a bit. I went making dinners in double batches to freeze for later, to now it's lucky if I'm even cooking these days (eggs and avocados every night is ok, right? A finer husband I do not know!
