The Doctor that got shot in episode 1 was a "Ganger". "Gangers" are clones that appeared in episodes 5-6 Rebel Flesh / Almost People. In episodes 5-6 a Ganger Doctor has already been shown, but he sacrificed himself to save the others. I predict that the shot Doctor will turn out to be a second Ganger clone.
