http://latchontothis.blogspot.com/2010_11_01_archive.html
Latch on to This. Take hold of that which is truly life. Monday, November 29, 2010. Another blow to gene patents (a good thing). Thankfully another blow has been made against the ridiculous practice of granting patents on human DNA. The Justice Department filed an amicus brief in a case related to patents held by a company called Myriad Genetics that claim ownership of a gene and two mutated forms of that gene which is correlated with the development of breast cancer. An amicus brief. Links to this post.

getting physical | The Magic Hour
https://themagichour.wordpress.com/2008/08/26/getting-physical
26 August, 2008 at 3:38 pm (. This week I am mostly managing all the physical elements of the installation, such as the cabling and the waterproof housing for the bat detectors. Today, for example, I have 200 or so metres of audio cable to prepare, in order to connect all my pieces of equipment together. Is just about completed, in the sense that there’s not actually that much more that I can do to it until I go the Botanic Garden next week to fine tune it to the evening bat behaviour. Sound and the city.
