The Path of Adventure: First Encounter Mt Etna
http://thepathofadventure.blogspot.com/2014/04/first-encounter-mt-etna.html
The Path of Adventure. Sunday, April 27, 2014. First Encounter Mt Etna. Today seemed like a forever day of traveling! We caught a boat from Lipari to Sicily and then we had a 2 hour bus ride to Mt. Etna. We had a good lunch in a refugio near where we hiked. The temperatures are much colder here and there has been snow in the higher elevations on and off for the past couple of weeks! This is a picture of the last major lava flow from 2002! We walked entirely on volcanic ash today. But they can be found in...

Transoceanic Drivel: I'm Back!!
http://transoceanicdrivel.blogspot.com/2012/07/im-back.html
A comprehensive account of our adventure of moving, living and working in India. Wednesday, July 4, 2012. Within Delhi, there has been much transpiring. After a year and half, the chaos here becomes predictable which means your tolerance is greatly reduced. Before, it was a surprise when something stupid happened – now it is just a predictable conclusion. So welcome to the retrospective journey that led to my decision to quit my job! The Path of Adventure: Lipari
http://thepathofadventure.blogspot.com/2014/04/lipari.html
The Path of Adventure. Saturday, April 26, 2014. Today we took the most beautiful hike on the island of Lipari. Lipari is the largest of the Aeolian Islands and in Neolithic times was one of the few trading centers for obsidian. Obsidian is a hard black volcanic glass that was prized because of it's very sharp edges. We saw a lot of it in walls and just big pieces sitting in people's yards! We ended the hike walking on a Roman built road to an ancient Roman bath! Our grown over path. The ancient Roman Ba...

The Path of Adventure: August 2012
http://thepathofadventure.blogspot.com/2012_08_01_archive.html
The Path of Adventure. Friday, August 31, 2012. Today we visited the Basilica San Marco. I had made advanced reservations on the internet so we didn't have to stand in the LONG line. . . that was 1euro that was well spent. It was raining this morning and we were a little delayed in our entrance because they were putting up raised wooden walks because the square floods! Luckily, we were one of the first ones to enter after the walks were installed so the Basilica was relatively empty. This picture is take...

Groggyland: The one where she cried and cried and cried, and then loved it
http://diaryofamadnewmother.blogspot.com/2014/01/the-one-where-she-cried-and-cried-and.html
Desperate for a good night's sleep since 2005. Saturday, January 18, 2014. The one where she cried and cried and cried, and then loved it. Andy and Bubba. And once again, he ruins the picture for me. Margaret on her horse at the beginning. She was very excited at this point. And then there was the sobbing. Andy's horse was slow so he was behind us a lot. At age, we always held our horses back to be able to trot to catch up. Andy did like that so much. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Amalah . com.

Transoceanic Drivel: August 2011
http://transoceanicdrivel.blogspot.com/2011_08_01_archive.html
A comprehensive account of our adventure of moving, living and working in India. Wednesday, August 31, 2011. The Smells and Sounds of Home. When I stepped off the plane at the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport, the thing that struck me immediately was the smell. There was none! And then there is the silence. No horns; no vegetable guy chanting; no engines humming - just the birds and the clean wind sharing space in the trees and people quietly going about their walk or bike ride enjoying the...

The Path of Adventure: Mt Vesuvius and Pompeii
http://thepathofadventure.blogspot.com/2014/04/mt-vesuvius-and-pompeii.html
The Path of Adventure. Thursday, April 24, 2014. Mt Vesuvius and Pompeii. Our first volcano. . .Mt Vesuvius! Mt Vesuvius is the only active volcano on the mainland of Europe! It was made famous because of the eruption in 79AD which buried the city of Pompeii! It was a VERY busy day on the volcano today. . . many school groups and just visitors that must have taken off for Easter week! Most visitors only get to walk around half the crater, we got a special permit to walk around the whole crater! The city ...

Transoceanic Drivel: December 2011
http://transoceanicdrivel.blogspot.com/2011_12_01_archive.html
A comprehensive account of our adventure of moving, living and working in India. Friday, December 9, 2011. A New Expereince in China. For the last week I have been shuttling between Hong Kong and Shenzhen China. I spent 3 nights in Hong Kong, 1 night in China and then returned yesterday to Hong Kong for the final day of work. It is not as cool as it sounds as I spend most of my time facilitating meetings around riveting subjects such as Vendor Accountability and Goals and Objectives.

Transoceanic Drivel: April 2011
http://transoceanicdrivel.blogspot.com/2011_04_01_archive.html
A comprehensive account of our adventure of moving, living and working in India. Saturday, April 30, 2011. I think I have been in Delhi too long when most things I see on the street no longer warrant as much as a second glance. A guy using a coke bottle as a jack to change his tire barely solicits a WTF these days. Yesterday, though, was one such rare day when I witness Indians behaving like Indians and had to stop and stare. In the end, it almost always will be the driver’s fault, as he owns a car...

The Path of Adventure: Smooth Travel
http://thepathofadventure.blogspot.com/2014/04/smooth-travel.html
The Path of Adventure. Sunday, April 20, 2014. We set off for our trip to Naples at 6:00am on Saturday morning! We had the bumpiest ride over to Atlanta. . .we were both almost airsick by the time we landed! We head to the train to take us into the main train station in Rome so we can catch our train to Naples. Smooth sailing or rather "train-ing" to Naples. Maybe my new calm could be a long term thing. . .we will see:-)! We are trying to figure out how he suspended like this! Mt Vesuvius in the distance.
