Portlandia Pedaler: February 2012
http://portlandiapedaler.blogspot.com/2012_02_01_archive.html
Adventures in Bicycling in and around Portland Oregon. Tuesday, February 14, 2012. Mild Winter Means Great Riding. Portland has been having an extremely mild winter - no extreme cold and, even, not a lot of rain! We have had some moody foggy mornings which is kind of cool, I like the imagery of fog - is that weird? The morning commutes are, like last year, providing more solitude which is nice for mellowing the mind before thrusting myself into the hecticness of the workday. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Adventures in Bicycling in and around Portland Oregon. Monday, December 26, 2011. A White Christmas - Project MB-1 Assembly and Fabrication. Well, this being Portland, OR, it was a white bicycle xmas. That's right, Project MB-1 is now road ready! I was able to get all the parts on and fitted in time for a xmas eve ride with a couple of ride buddies for a tough, hill climbing 32 mile inaugural ride. The picture above is from our high point at Bald Peak Park. As soon as I saw it I was, "Wow! Next, it was o...

Portlandia Pedaler: Rain a coming ... or so they say
http://portlandiapedaler.blogspot.com/2012/01/rain-coming-or-so-they-say.html
Adventures in Bicycling in and around Portland Oregon. Friday, January 13, 2012. Rain a coming . or so they say. Well, rain or snow/rain or some snow is being predicted for the second half of this coming weekend. Well it feels cold enough to be close, at least. For now, we had a great week for bike commuting - it was dry! The MB-1 is doing great and I am loving the ride! You can see the single wrap around the cable, then a couple wraps around the wiring, then the wrapping around both the wiring and cable...

Portlandia Pedaler: Project SUB*
http://portlandiapedaler.blogspot.com/p/project-sub.html
Adventures in Bicycling in and around Portland Oregon. Project SUB - Before (2009) and After (2011). Once I was back riding a lot, and as of January 2011, bike commuting daily to our new office in downtown Portland I have also been constantly working on Project SUB. I did not actually come up with the SUB moniker until about mid-way into my changes. Oh, and SUB stands for S. 6th set of tires (4th in the last 5 months) skinnier versions of set number 5. 4th location for the original thumb shifters. Shift ...

To add to the recognition we have a "wall of fame" where we post each week's results for every one's view. What do you think? Of course, I have plugged my video site before - haha). The lead-in photo up above is from my point and shoot and is a stitch of 3 individual shots. I took this of the Portland skyline across t...

Portlandia Pedaler: June 2011
http://portlandiapedaler.blogspot.com/2011_06_01_archive.html
Adventures in Bicycling in and around Portland Oregon. Tuesday, June 28, 2011. Sunday Parkways = 36,000 Cyclists, Peds, Others. I have started a new habit now. As I pass or others pass me I give them a verbal greeting like, "Good morning." What a difference, though I am still amazed at how many do not know how to respond. For those coming toward me, I think I sometimes see a look of "she is crazy or something" from them. But, hey, who cares, right? Intersection Hero - Sunday Parkways, North Portland 2011.

Portlandia Pedaler: May 2011
http://portlandiapedaler.blogspot.com/2011_05_01_archive.html
Adventures in Bicycling in and around Portland Oregon. Monday, May 30, 2011. Cool and Grey - I Experience a Torrential Shower. Wednesday, Thursday and Friday saw the return of a lot of clouds and chances of rain. There were drizzles, light rain, downright downpours and a few spots where you could actually see blue sky. In certain sections you can tell if it is cold or too wet as the birds seem less active in the mornings on those less than nice days. Of course there are less people out, too. Of course, a...
