http://mirili.blogspot.com/2007/03/warning-on-david-gemmells-troy.html
When philosophers go awry. A Warning on David Gemmell's Troy. Because years ago, I read Legend which was one of the best 'flawed hero' showcases I've ever read, and I'm always optimistic. Ok, so I liked Troy right? So last week, I go and talk to my elder brother about it. Me: Eh, you read Troy oredi? You read oredi ah? You also read oredi ah? Wah lau, damn good lor! We are a very eloquent family). He: Eh, you read second book oredi or not? He: Ya can. But I haven't read yet leh. Got no third book lah!

When philosophers go awry. I know this is not a book but it is geeky cool. I got this link from boing boing, apparently richard dawkins, who is a big evolution guy, narrates a bbc documentary on religion, where he speaks to religious leaders. Exerpt:. Dawkins's narration drips with contempt; as he goes about his rounds, it's as if he can hardly restrain himself from shouting, "I'm surrounded by IDIOTS! The smoke coming out of his ears leaves a trail behind him wherever he goes. Links to this post. So I s...

Because food, like life, should be an adventure. Sunday, August 24, 2008. Slow down, danger ahead. Sunday, August 10, 2008. Not too cold for salad. With 4 degree nights and 14 degree days, it isn't the right season for salad yet, but I do miss crispy leaves of rocket, spinach and cos. Tofu - marinated in tamari, dark sweet soy sauce and mirin and then grilled or fried. Sliced orange sweet potato - grilled. 1 cucumber - sliced. Wedges of tomato or baby tomatoes. 1 part tamari/soy sauce. Mirili, a book blog.

Because food, like life, should be an adventure. Sunday, August 12, 2007. Sundays are for soup. In the orange corner, we have day-old sweet potato, parsnip and rosemary soup. I wasn't going to make a creamy soup until I smelt one of my neighbours making potato soup. I couldn't resist. You can never have too much soup in winter (even though the flowers say spring is finally here). Sweet potato, parsnip and rosemary soup. Qualities are for 2 - 3 serves. 4inch length of parsnip. 2 sprigs of rosemary.

Okay, okay, the husband has been messing around with your heads showing you pictures but no stories. so, am stepping in and *finally* touching the 'puter since we left 11 days ago. Day 1: Arrival in Jo'burg for transfers into Livingstone, Zambia. Arriving in Zambia was a shock to the system. You know how we complain Sg is hot? It is nothing compared to Livingstone the day we arrived man. The heat literally. No, no kidding. A short list of stuff we saw:.

Soh, Goh figure (geddit geddit? Sunday, September 25. So we were chilling out (in other words, we were about to fall asleep after big lunch and Gene's big night out and my interrupted sleep from Gene's big night out), when we heard an almighty CRACK and CRASH. It sounded like something big had fallen over. We ran out and found that some tiles in the living room had ERUPTED. I jest you not, it seemed like it had literally popped under pressure. ARgh. Great Something else to deal with. A post of pictures.

Soh, Goh figure (geddit geddit? Wednesday, May 31. Possibly the worst movie ever. We just watched Pterodactyl on the Cinemax channel. Goodness knows why we started watching, but let's just say that it was so bad that you would have had to pay me to watch it in the cinema. The kind of bad that makes your eyes water in sheer agony especially at the one liners. The plot: Somewhere in the Turkish border, a (very very fake looking) volcano holds a secret: You guessed it! As Judith would say "ya think? The acr...
