Harp Pendant - My Motley Meanderings
http://alex-holden.livejournal.com/273731.html
I Hit Turbo but Nothing Happened. Here's another item of jewellery I made: a harp pendant for. It's pretty tiny; less than an inch tall. The body is made from nickel-silver. The way I made it was:. Design a template based on. S real harp. It had a rectangular outline with the strings oriented vertically. Roughly cut out two rectangles of nickel silver and superglue them together. Glue the template on. File the edges so the two pieces match exactly and so they correspond to the outline of the template.

Another Cut Coin - My Motley Meanderings
http://alex-holden.livejournal.com/274191.html
I Hit Turbo but Nothing Happened. I made another cut coin pendant for my mum's Christmas present, this time from an 1899 silver sixpence. Posted on Dec. 27th, 2013 at 10:37 am. It looks very good. Posted on Dec. 28th, 2013 08:36 am (UTC). Posted on Dec. 28th, 2013 07:43 pm (UTC). It's beautiful, you did a great job - and a lot faster than the first coin. Did your mum like it? As in, did she LURVE it? Posted on Dec. 31st, 2013 09:34 pm (UTC). Return of the ring. Year of the teledu.

http://alex-holden.livejournal.com/277198.html
I Hit Turbo but Nothing Happened. Queen Victoria and Highland Soldier Marionettes à la Planchette. I was recently commissioned by a Punch and Judy professor to make a pair of marionettes à la planchette depicting an elderly Queen Victoria and a contemporary Black Watch Highland soldier. It proved to be a huge amount of work, but I am very happy with how they turned out. For some nice historic illustrations. Also this lovely engraving from 1821. Vicky's white veil (and petticoats! The detail I'm most prou...

Success with the electric chainsaw sharpener! - My Motley Meanderings
http://alex-holden.livejournal.com/272978.html
I Hit Turbo but Nothing Happened. Success with the electric chainsaw sharpener! I've never had much success sharpening chains with a chainsaw file, possibly because I've only tried to use them after somebody has just accidentally hit a rock or a nail and blunted the teeth far beyond the point where a light touch-up with a hand file is going to do them much good. A few months ago. Bought a Faithfull electric chainsaw sharpener. It's a little thing, but I do so. Enjoy using sharp tools. Return of the ring.

Cut Coin Jewellery - My Motley Meanderings
http://alex-holden.livejournal.com/273473.html
I Hit Turbo but Nothing Happened. Here is the secret birthday-present metalworking project that I was making cryptic comments about on FaceBook a couple of weeks ago:. Incidentally, Christmas is coming up: if any of you are interested in commissioning me to make something similar, please drop me a line to discuss the details. Posted on Nov. 17th, 2013 at 10:08 am. Posted on Nov. 17th, 2013 10:38 am (UTC). The first designs I saw were simply cut-outs of the existing coin design, then I found pictures of s...
