The Wicken Fen Rangers' Blog: Bits and Bobs in the run up to Easter.

http://wickenvision.blogspot.com/2015/03/bits-and-bobs-in-run-up-to-easter.html

Thursday, 26 March 2015. Bits and Bobs in the run up to Easter. We've been busy doing lots of things to get the Fen looking tip top ready for the Easter Holidays. The whole team at Wicken got very excited about the eclipse last Friday. We had pinhole cameras, glass lenses and binoculars ready to project the image of the moon moving across the Sunday, and then the clouds came! It did get darker and colder which was slightly spooky, but unfortunately that's all we got to experience. Wicken Fen main web site.

The Wicken Fen Rangers' Blog: Wicken Fen meets Ennerdale Valley

http://wickenvision.blogspot.com/2015/06/wicken-fen-meets-ennerdale-valley.html

Thursday, 18 June 2015. Wicken Fen meets Ennerdale Valley. Howard was excited to arrive at Ennerdale. We were very pleased with our home for the two nights. Ennerdale Valley is located in the north west of the Lake District National Park. Wild Ennerdale is a project run in partnership with National Trust, Forestry Commission, and United Utilities, aiming to let the 4000ha valley evolve as a wild space for the benefit of people, relying more on natural processes to shape its landscape and ecology. Wild En...

The Wicken Fen Rangers' Blog: The Ambassadors are back.

http://wickenvision.blogspot.com/2015/02/the-ambassadors-are-back.html

Wednesday, 25 February 2015. The Ambassadors are back. Ambassadors hard at work. An action shot of one of the trees putting up a fight. All still smiling at the end of the day, always a good result. Thank you to all involved and here's hoping the cows enjoy it. Stu and I have been trying our hand at some chainsaw crafting! The large logs ready and waiting to be transformed. The first chunk out. Stu racing through his bench. My bench is getting there! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

The Wicken Fen Rangers' Blog: October 2014

http://wickenvision.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html

Friday, 24 October 2014. We have been embarking on the massive rake-a-thon that occurs this time every year. When the fen is too wet to drive the tractors on to cut and clear the sedge, its back to good old fashioned elbow grease and large portion of the ranger team took their rakes and went across the fen to the Godwin plots last week. And an increase in Purple Moor Grass ( Molina caerulea. And tall fen herbs such as marsh thistle ( Cirisium vulgare. And yellow loosestrife ( Lysimachia vulgaris. Two wee...

Automotive Mobile: Desember 2011

http://www.automotivemobile.info/2011_12_01_archive.html

Kamis, 29 Desember 2011. Cambridge not a desirable place to live? It seems to me that there are several reasons for doing surveys, one is of course in the pursuit of science, unfortunately another seems to be to generate publicity by association.  Now I have no idea which camp the annual Halifax Quality of Life Survey falls into. However Cambridge isn’t in the top 50. Whilst East Cambridgeshire has leapt from 22. In the ranks to number 4. Lodes Way – every desirable place to live should have one! On the ...
