Wickstead Lab
Welcome to the Wickstead Lab. The lab's research interests include aspects of genome architecture, chromosome segregation, molecular motor function and multigene-family evolution. A uniting factor behind these topics is the importance they have to understanding the biology of parasites and the evolution of complex cells. Much of the work in the lab involves the parasite Trypanosoma brucei. Which causes a fatal disease known as "sleeping sickness" in humans.
