Shady Creek Farm: January 2015
http://shadycreekhorses.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html
Thursday, January 1, 2015. I've been thinking lately about my hobby goals are for this year, so this is what I've come up with so far that I'd like to accomplish in 2015:. Get my collection cataloged, photographed, and organized. I spend a lot of 2013 and 2014 getting my collection out of storage boxes and set up on display in my office/pony room/craft space. But this year I'd like to get things better organized and documented. One organization project in the works. Name a bunch of unnamed horses. Such i...

Tuesday, January 28, 2014. Midwinter's Night Ball - Show Day #1. Sorry for the delay in updating this blog again and getting on with my Midwinter's Night Ball show report. I'm currently taking three classes this semester in college, one of which is an 8 week (aka, intensive) course online, and the amount of schoolwork I have right now is sort of kicking my butt. But anyway, let's continue with this show report, shall we? Epiphany in a Hunter In Hand showmanship entry. Other Performance (Scene/Non-Competi...

Wednesday, January 1, 2014. 2013: Year in Review. So, it's the start of a new year, but I thought I should quickly take a look back at 2013. Rob also bought me these two, and now blames himself for rekindling my model horse. The ponies that Rob bought for me in Branson. The first show was Hog Wild Live in Springdale, Arkansas on September 14th. It was a great show, and I did pretty well for my first time showing since 2008, plus I learned a lot. My show string for the day. Some highlights of the show:.

Shady Creek Farm: February 2015

Saturday, February 7, 2015. BCS Winter Photo Challenge. My friend Jennifer decided to host a fun photo challenge. And I couldn't resist the urge to enter with all Performance-themed entries! So, here's my take on the BCS Winter Photo Challenge:. A little vintage performance with a vintage custom! This is Joker's Double Dice in a Western Arena Trail set up back in the late 90's. Sometimes even Performance entries can be nekkid! You haven't had real scale ISSUES. 4 I see spots. I think it can be argued tha...

Shady Creek Farm: 2014: Year In Review

Wednesday, December 31, 2014. 2014: Year In Review. 2014 is coming to a close, so it's time to look back at the year in review! At the end of 2013, I did a year in review post. 2013 was a pretty good year for me as it was my first year back in the hobby after a long break. But, I predicted that 2014 would be an even better year - and I think I was right! While I only managed to go to two shows in 2013, I went to seven (or eight, since one was a double show). Big Orange Bash in Knoxville, TN on June 7th.

Shady Creek Farm: December 2013
http://shadycreekhorses.blogspot.com/2013_12_01_archive.html
Tuesday, December 31, 2013. My first introductory post was getting a bit long, so I figured I should make a separate post explaining my activity and absence in the hobby. Finally, 2013 inspired me to open up the boxes that had been tucked away in storage since 2010. My boyfriend, Rob, and I had taken a vacation in Branson, MO in May, during which, we spent part of one day browsing antique shops. As luck would have it, a few of them had Breyer horses! The antique-store ponies that Rob bought for me. Shady...

Shady Creek Farm: April 2014
http://shadycreekhorses.blogspot.com/2014_04_01_archive.html
Monday, April 28, 2014. Before I post a full show report for Tornado Alley Goes Hog Wild, I'd like to post a little bit about the happenings leading up to these shows. But luckily Jessica Sneeringer stepped up to judge in her place. Although the show started promptly at 8:30am, we didn't finish until almost 10pm. The whole day felt rushed and unorganized, but after earning three Reserve Championships and a stack of NAN cards, plus getting to hang out with Sheila, the weekend wasn't a total waste. I went ...
