Sunday, July 7, 2013. Long Year Finally Over. Wiggles had a long, hard year. Not school-wise, but health-wise. My baby was in the hospital 3 times in 3 months. The first stay he was on a ventilator and intubated for a week. It was hard to watch him that way. We agreed no pictures of how sick he was on social media. . He is bouncing back now and although we probably have a few bumps along the way…I feel he will be the healthy child he once was before the illness. Our Homeschool Group Graduation.

Since Tuesdays are our first day of the school week that means he only did 1 day of school. I am going to try again next week with him and just pick back up Unit 2. Sunday, October 7, 2012. Month in Review-September 2012. Corn Maze Flashbacks and Present Day. Wiggles @ 2 and Wiggles @ 5 at the corn maze! The history for K12 kindergarten is really pretty neat. The kids make a passport in one of the first few lessons and learn about travelling. They then go on to make suitcases for the continents and “travel” to each country. . Thursday, March 10, 2011. Next Year’s Curriculum Decision. I have purchased both Calvert’s pre-k and Abeka’s k-4. The plan is to start with Calvert and after it is completed to do Abeka’s k-4. Then I will make a decision about which works better for us. I may love Calvert so much that I will skip Abeka’s k-4. I don’t know. Wiggles is finishing up his year of day school. He is enjoying it and it has gone well. I am looking forward to him coming home next year though. Posted by Carpe Diem Prep.

So over the years we have done several different versions of Singapore Math starting with US Edition, then Thinking Skills US edition and now Math in Focus. Lastly, make sure you do your homework. Singapore Math is not traditional US Math. There is a method to the madness and just teaching the way you learned is not going to accomplish the mental math awareness that the Singapore Method will achieve.
