So, we mentioned this idea briefly when we launched, as part of our Mission – the “Donate to Deformulate” program is our method of ensuring that manufacturers and retailers with their own product lines can get their products added to our database without compromising the integrity of the process, or of our data. Do you profit from this? Not at all. In fact at this point we’re running the business out of our own pockets. I’m a manufacturer, why I can’t send you stuff to test? I’m a manufacturer and we already pay for third-party testing, can I just send you our test results? How much do the tests cost? Low-level testing is around $200. Next-level testing can run another $400. We’re in the process of shopping for a lab that can work out a better deal for us. Will you test this dildo I own that burned my bits?

The Red Seal – What A Verification Failure Means. July 6, 2013. When we started Dildology, we knew we’d have to fail a toy someday. Today is that day. Before we do the big reveal, however, I want to talk about what it means when a product receives the soon-to-be infamous Dildology Seal of Failure . When the lab results show that the material content of a product differs from the manufacturer’s declaration, we have to fail it. When a toy gets the Red Seal, it is for this reason alone.
