The woman had so many wonderful cookbooks, and when the kids would nap, I would look through them and drool. So instead of drooling each week, I started taking index cards with me and got some of these great recipes down on paper! Over the years, I've tweaked this "chowdah" recipe until it suited our family.

I had an action-packed girls weekend this past weekend. And man, was it ever needed. It had been much too long since I had spent quality time with these girls. And I was so lucky - I got to split my weekend between two sets of precious friends. My husband was all about me multi-tasking/killing two birds with one stone. Yay! Wednesday, July 23, 2014. Best in the land. Back when we used to grow a garden we always had lots of zucchini squash this time of year. AND that meant only one thing. Honey would make zucchini bread. This summer time treat soon became one of Karlie's favorites. And since she doesn't have too many favorite foods we do like to oblige her when she does have something she enjoys to eat. The other day, someone sent us some from her garden. Karlie got that look in her eye. Combine in a bowl. 1/2 t baking powder.

Monday, May 18, 2015. Some how we managed to space out our kids in such a way that there is a high school graduation happening every 5 years, except for number 4 and she will wait seven years after the 3rd born graduates. Tuesday, November 12, 2013. Upon examination at the hospital, it was determined that his liver was NOT, in fact, enlarged. The cardiologists believe he has costochondritis, an inflammation where the ribs connect to the sternum. A few days of ibuprofen and he should be good to go. It's not dangerous, it just hurts. His EKG was normal, well, ok, "normal" for him. My explanation- God healed him. Is it a cut and dry healing? No Could either of the doctors have been wrong? Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Sunday, February 1, 2015. Traveling the city like tourists. Today after church we decided to travel the city like tourists and to take lots of photos. Where's my sandals and tube socks? Wait it's winter and it was raining so my hubby drove slow through the city streets as we all looked up at the tall buildings and snapped photos from the comfort of the car. Today started the month long daily photo challenge.I needed some photos and more specifically I needed a photo that screamed winter. What a neat idea!

Friday, May 30, 2014. Detours, Destiny and God's Sovereignty. God's sovereignty says that things are under control even when they feel out of control." Tony Evans. I've felt that out of control feeling may times through out life. But I'll have to be up front with you I used to dodge the sovereignty of God thing, crazy I know, but I didn't understand it.
