Fresh-Cut Flowers: Three Magic Words
http://freshcutflowers.blogspot.com/2013/11/three-magic-words.html
Random outbursts from the pieces of my mind. Saturday, November 09, 2013. When he turned four and started Pre-K he had the same teacher and went half a day Monday through Friday. More progress was made. He started calling me "Ma" and Nickel is "Da". To him, the word "no" comes out "nay". I tease that he's obviously Scottish and we should get him a kilt. He has never said it back. I don't doubt that he loves me. Somethings in life you just know. But still, it would be nice to hear those words. He told me ...

Fresh-Cut Flowers: Summertime Learning and Fun
http://freshcutflowers.blogspot.com/2014/06/summertime-learning-and-fun.html
Random outbursts from the pieces of my mind. Monday, June 23, 2014. Summertime Learning and Fun. Check out this link to painting with marshmallows. As a reward, Nickel and I took him to a local museum where they currently have a dinosaur display. Peanut was sound asleep when we left so we gave her the afternoon off from all of us. Pictured here with daddy, The Boy Who Doesn't Talk (much) was a little nervous at the sheer size of the beasts that actually moved (albeit robotically) and roared. A few months...

Fresh-Cut Flowers: Mama Says
http://freshcutflowers.blogspot.com/2013/10/mama-says.html
Random outbursts from the pieces of my mind. Sunday, October 20, 2013. I just spent a very nice weekend with my mother. Just the two of us. No husbands. No little distracting children. I drove over to the pretty side of the state on Wednesday and Thursday morning we took off on our adventure to Northwest Arkansas. After exiting the interstate highway we drove a two-lane road the rest of the way home. We went through several small towns that looked very interesting. "This is Summer, Arkansas! A few months...

Fresh-Cut Flowers: Another story of Peanut's love life
http://freshcutflowers.blogspot.com/2006/01/another-story-of-peanuts-love-life.html
Random outbursts from the pieces of my mind. Wednesday, January 11, 2006. Another story of Peanut's love life. I love it when 5 year olds are in love. As you may recall back in December Poke's Fan. This is what he told Peanut on the way to kindergarten today- thier bus driver retold the conversation to me). Peanut, not wanting him to think she'll die without his attention was quick to point out that two boys in her kindergarten class have crushes on her. One sits next to her. I wish I had such definite, ...

We've had tons of guest and I can't keep up with my phone calls. But I promised pictures and pictures you shall have! Baby B didn't like the nurses but stopped crying for daddy. Happy to be holding my baby b on the outside! I can't wait to sniff his little blondie head and kiss his piggie toes! AWW, Les, he is beautiful! Yer not too bad yerself :).

Fresh-Cut Flowers: The Best or the Worst, Take Your Pick
http://freshcutflowers.blogspot.com/2013/05/the-best-or-worst-take-your-pick.html
Random outbursts from the pieces of my mind. Monday, May 13, 2013. The Best or the Worst, Take Your Pick. After today, my children will only attend school for 8 more days. Then they will officially be on summer vacation. They are both very excited. Though it means a lot more to Peanut than her brother as this is his first year of school. But he senses the excitement in the air. I sort of miss those days. Because I work every other Saturday I get every other Friday off. That may change in the future b...

Fresh-Cut Flowers: I Saw My Mother Do It
http://freshcutflowers.blogspot.com/2013/04/i-saw-my-mother-do-it.html
Random outbursts from the pieces of my mind. Thursday, April 04, 2013. I Saw My Mother Do It. I learned to drive on that dirt road. I even let my slightly younger best friend drive for the first time on a straight stretch of road. I like that dirt road, part of me hopes the county forgets to pave it for another forty years. I saw what my mother did. Fast forward fifteen years and now I'm in my car with my teenage daughter after school. We're talking about homework assignments and the substitute teach...

Fresh-Cut Flowers: Love is in the Air
http://freshcutflowers.blogspot.com/2013/11/love-is-in-air.html
Random outbursts from the pieces of my mind. Monday, November 18, 2013. Love is in the Air. The Boy Who Doesn't Talk (much) has a girlfriend. Today, Nickel asked me if The Boy told me about his girlfriend. He hadn't so of course I asked. She gave him some conversation hearts today. Apparently she is pretty and has brown hair like Mama. He's not giving up her name though. Somethings are private. I will, of course, ask his teachers tomorrow. Such a fun age. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). As a freelanc...

Fresh-Cut Flowers: Career Options
http://freshcutflowers.blogspot.com/2014/06/career-options.html
Random outbursts from the pieces of my mind. Monday, June 09, 2014. Last night The Boy Who Does Not Talk (much) came into the living room and though he didn't exactly say "Look at me! So I did what any good mother should do. I took his picture. I call the whole family in to see his accomplishment. Thank goodness this kid has some career choices. Being a kid and growing up is such a cool part of life. When you're young, you have no worries, no drama, on your imagination. It's the best! Cool, cool water.

Fresh-Cut Flowers: New Friends
http://freshcutflowers.blogspot.com/2012/07/new-friends.html
Random outbursts from the pieces of my mind. Monday, July 30, 2012. Speaking of kids, I'll tell you a little secret, my favorite patrons are the ones that are 0-6 years old. The babies I adore mostly because I don't have one that small to play with anymore and it'll be a long time (hopefully 15-20 years) before i have grandkids. The toddlers are fun because they're just getting into books and stories. But the 4-6 year olds are the best! I'm Butter's mom. How did you know? Today a toe-headed boy came up t...
