WildStrawberry, Captain Spaulding and DogMom review books we're reading. Old, new, favorites and never-seen-before, we're reviewing 'em all. Wednesday, November 17, 2010. The Hunger Games Trilogy by Suzanne Collins. The Hunger Games trilogy consists of:. Book 1 - The Hunger Games. Book 2 - Catching Fire. Book 3 - Mockingjay. These books are riveting. Brutal at times but absolutely amazing. The story, over the three books, tells of the discontent of the districts against the Capital's rule. No Capital...

WildDog's Book Reviews: December 2010

http://wilddogsbookreviews.blogspot.com/2010_12_01_archive.html

WildStrawberry, Captain Spaulding and DogMom review books we're reading. Old, new, favorites and never-seen-before, we're reviewing 'em all. Thursday, December 9, 2010. Knot Gneiss, by Piers Anthony. I saw the latest Xanth offering at the Library and I didn't have very many other books to take home so I figured, "meh, why not". At least I wasn't paying for it, right? They take it anyway because of course. This book dumps our subjects into Ida's Alternate Worlds a few times, but thankfully. Men, bar none,...

Electronic Breadcrumbs: October 2010

http://electronicbreadcrumbs.blogspot.com/2010_10_01_archive.html

Wednesday, October 27, 2010. Posted by Paul Myers. Last weekend, I hid a multi-cache in an area where I hide many of my caches. I didn't figure I'd have too much problems getting this one approved since I seem to be the only one who hides caches up in that area for the most part. I was kind of surprised when I got an reviewer notice stating that my cache was on hold until I cleared up some proximity issues. Pictures were taken at or near Cobol Canyon Trail. Wednesday, October 20, 2010. 10 year event cache.

All of the geocaches up in Johnson's Pasture, located just north of where I live, have been found. It was a gorgeous day, slightly breezy. It was a crisp day for the second full day of spring. Picture was taken near the following geocache:. Welcome to Johnson's Pasture. March 23, 2011 at 9:37 PM. Thats a really pretty shot. Great capture! Http:/ www.hoohaablog.com.

Electronic Breadcrumbs: Unusual things to see near a geocache

http://electronicbreadcrumbs.blogspot.com/2011/04/unusual-things-to-see-near-geocache.html

Sunday, April 10, 2011. Unusual things to see near a geocache. Posted by Paul Myers. Every now and then, while out geocaching, I'll come across things that are out of place. In this case, these things aren't really out of place, mainly because the geocache is hidden near a museum. So perhaps the geocache was out of place, but it really wasn't either. Pictures were taken near the following geocaches:. That Black Gooey Smelly Stuff. The La Brea Tar Pits. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Beauty and Fashi...

Electronic Breadcrumbs: National Parks and caching

http://electronicbreadcrumbs.blogspot.com/2011/02/national-parks-and-caching.html

Sunday, February 13, 2011. National Parks and caching. Posted by Paul Myers. Yesterday I found a geocache in a national park area. This, of itself isn't that unusual, because it's fairly easy to find Earthcaches and virtual caches inside national park units. What's much harder to find are actual physical caches, because the National Park Service (NPS). Has deemed geocaches not conducive to the national park experience. There have always been exceptions and it also appears as if the NPS is lightening thei...

Electronic Breadcrumbs: December 2010

http://electronicbreadcrumbs.blogspot.com/2010_12_01_archive.html

Friday, December 31, 2010. Finding caches I couldn't find. Posted by Paul Myers. Last October, I hiked in the North Etiwanda Preserve (NEP) for the first time. It was another instance of geocaching getting me to explore something in my own back yard. On that day I found 12 caches and DNFed five of them, a very high DNF rate in my opinion. For whatever reason, I kept having difficulty finding some of the caches I was looking for that day. The daytime temperatures were warm enough that I was able to hike i...

Electronic Breadcrumbs: September 2010

http://electronicbreadcrumbs.blogspot.com/2010_09_01_archive.html

Thursday, September 30, 2010. James Dean passed this way? Posted by Paul Myers. Fifty five years ago today, James Dean died. I was reminded of that by an editorial on the Op-Ed page of the Los Angeles Times today. I actually already knew about it, but the editorial nudged me a little. He would have been 79 had he not been involved in that car crash along Hwy 46 east of Paso Robles. Staring two other young actors, both of whom died premature deaths, Natalie Wood and Sal Mineo. If you've never seen thi...
