An Inch At A Time: Reflections on the Journey: Live From Wedding Central
http://inchatatime.blogspot.com/2006/02/live-from-wedding-central.html
An Inch At A Time: Reflections on the Journey. Sister Joan Chittister famously said, "We are each called to go through life reclaiming the planet an inch at a time until the Garden of Eden grows green again." Reflecting on that journey - a blog at a time - is the focus of this site. Saturday, February 18, 2006. Live From Wedding Central. So what am I doing on the computer blogging on the morning of my wedding? What strikes me this morning is that far from rejecting traditional marriage we’re embrac...

The writing on the wall: When the world out there wants an explanation...
http://galensspot.blogspot.com/2011/07/when-world-out-there-wants-explanation.html
The writing on the wall. Welcome, new readers! Monday, July 11, 2011. When the world out there wants an explanation. And I know that if I tell Gabriel something, more than likely I will have to repeat it, maybe three, maybe five, maybe ten times, because he didn't understand what I said in the first place or because he has forgotten what I said 30 minutes later. That's just how it is. There is no need for explanations. Sometimes I'd like to tell the world out there to mind their own bizwhacks.

The writing on the wall: October 2011
http://galensspot.blogspot.com/2011_10_01_archive.html
The writing on the wall. Welcome, new readers! Sunday, October 09, 2011. On this day, 120 years ago, my grandmother, Anna Barthel Adams, was born in Muskogee, Indian Territory to Frank Barthel and Mary Elizabeth "Molly" Kerr. Molly died when Anna was only 10 years old. Virtually a single parent, Anna had to support her two daughters in a time when opportunities were scarce for women. She began teaching in a little two-room country school, Sally Brown School, when she didn't even have a high school di...

The writing on the wall. Welcome, new readers! Thursday, October 28, 2010. Coffee with my hero. Today the boys and I had coffee with a woman who is a personal hero of mine. Her name is Debora and, like me, she is a pediatric occupational therapist. In 1981, she began treating a set of one year old twins.my future son Marcus and his twin brother. I emailed her and we planned to meet. So today we met at a little coffee shop at SLU. This was the first time Debora and Marcus had seen each other since Mar...

http://www.stpaulsmtl.org/2015/02/thoughts-on-candidate-forum.html
St Paul’s’ Epistle. An unofficial blog about parish life at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Mt. Lebanon, Pa., in the Episcopal Diocese of Pittsburgh. Thursday, February 12, 2015. Thoughts on the Candidate Forum. St Paul’s is to be commended for staging a candidate forum before the Vestry election. It is also encouraging that we have six candidates for four positions. Parishioners do actually have a choice to make. There were three questions from the audience. My question was. Charles Coleman, when called ...

St Paul’s’ Epistle. An unofficial blog about parish life at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Mt. Lebanon, Pa., in the Episcopal Diocese of Pittsburgh. Monday, September 29, 2014. Posted by Lionel Deimel. Links to this post. Tuesday, September 23, 2014. I have taken to reading Vestry minutes from St. Paul’s. Minutes for the past few meetings are posted on the bulletin board outside the church office, which assures that few parishioners will ever read them. We need owners for the Vestry Retreat Action Items.
