Continental Divide Trail Big Sky variation

Big Sky' variant of the CDT. A 350 mile approx. variation from the CDT in southern Montana and northern Wyoming. The Big Sky variant or Butte Super Cut-off is a route that we hiked last year that travels from the CDT south of Yellowstone (at Two Ocean Pass) north to meet the CDT again north of Butte (at Delmoe Lake). It cuts out the Montana/Idaho border section of the CDT and travels through Yellowstone east and north boundaries, Gallatin Petrified Forest, Spanish Peaks and the Tobacco Root mountains.

Martina’s Sheep Adoration Site. I have been a regular worshipper at the shrine of SHEEP since 1993 when I was fortunate. Enough to be taken to the North of Scotland by an ex-boyfriend to meet his mother Pam and her sheep. Though the boyfriend has moved on, I have gone back to the farm every spring and many summers since then to help Pam and the sheep with what they need to be getting on with i.e. lambing, shearing, feeding and generally looking after the sheep. Continental Divide Trail

A walking route that traverses the length of the US Rockies from Mexico to Canada for over 2,500 miles. The CDT crosses through the US states of New Mexico, Colorado, Wyoming, Idaho and Montana. We hiked about 300 miles in 2004 along the CDT in Colorado, south from the Wyoming/Colorado border. In 2009 we hiked the remainder- starting on the Mexico border we hiked New Mexico then Colorado. Our walk from Mexico to Canada in the summer of 1998. In the summer of 1998, Brian and Martina, two Scottish based mountaineers, attempted to walk across the United States from the Mexican border to Canada. The route we aimed to follow was the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT), which, at 2,600 miles in length, is one of the hardest but also most magnificent long distance walks in the world.
