It creeps up on you when you are least expecting it and starts invading your conscience. You begin to notice feelings of discontent - a 'what's it all for' feeling. Last night, I sliced one chicken breast horizontally into two pieces, bashed them flatter between two sheets of clingfilm, marinaded them in tikka masala paste and yoghurt then baked them and served with homemade potato wedges and salad. I stuck to my weekly 'envelope' system of grocery shopping, stocked up the pet foods from the 'Pet' envelope, set aside the weekly bus fares, filled up the car with only the allocated amount of money set aside for this purpose and still managed to give DD some pocket money! Dinsdag 10 januari 2012. Anders dan bij de honden en katten is er nu een leegte, die ik niet kan opvullen. Niet met schoonmaakwerk, fitness of wat dan ook. Ze was mijn maatje, waarbij ik heel wat tranen heb uitgestort als het soms niet mee zat. Nee, ik wordt niet depressief, maar een behoorlijke dip heb ik wel. De stal is zo leeg, mijn hart ook:). Maandag 2 januari 2012. Loslaten is een ultieme daad van liefde. Op oudejaarsmorgen is ze weggegaan. Een laatste knuffel en weg was ze. Het is goed zo:) ).

Living a simple, country life . Tuesday, 11 June 2013. Long time, no see. Sometimes, life has a habit of getting in the way doesn't it? No excuses, just busy trying to keep body and soul together whilst on a Debt Management Plan. I still believe it was the best thing to have happened to me - having my credit cards taken away and finally facing up to the fact that I had financial problems. After my last exam, I walked down the school drive and out into my future and never saw any of my school friends again.

Zondag 12 februari 2012. En dan is er Daisy. Terwijl langzaam de pijn vervaagde en de mooie herinneringen weer gingen glanzen, besloot ik om voorlopig geen nieuw groot paard weer te willen hebben voor mezelf. Maar het land was zo leeg. Via een consult kwam ik in contact met iemand die een mini shetlandveulen had met een slepend beentje. Er was gedacht aan een vastzittende knie door te slappe kniebanden. Living a simple, country life . Thursday, 22 May 2014. My, oh my - where did that year go? Oops - long time, no see. No excuses, no note from the parentals - simply couldn't 'get into' blogging. Not that I didn't have anything useful to say - No Sirrreee. Big news is that I have been awarded early retirement on medical grounds. Long-time readers may remember that I have been teaching Food Technology in a primary school for the past five years. My last day at school will be June 6th . watch this space!
