crab on mudflat
http://www.wildlife-art.net/crab-on-mudflat.html
This photo crab on mudflat. Depicts just one of the spectacular colorings of the small Kimberley crabs. Giant Tides of up to ten meters create mudflat environments for millions of colorful crabs on the remote Kimberley shores. There are so many variations of colour and size with these small crabs from the mudflats and mangrove forest of the Kimberley, that I feel that I see. A different kind and colour of crab every trip. If you think you can identify this little one - please put a note in the form below.
baby-squid
http://www.wildlife-art.net/baby-squid.html
This is a baby-squid. Photographed at Talbot Bay near the Horizontal Waterfalls. Evolution has probably conditioned us to nurture animals with large eyes in proportion to the head, limbs and body. Thus we find anything that resembles a baby with large eyes - cute. Juvenile creatures often have eyes that are larger in proportion to their body and head and thus display. We see as 'cute'. It would be hard to think of a full grown squid as 'cute'. Some facts about squid. Fishermen use them for bait often.

alex
http://www.wildlife-art.net/alex.html
The mangrove tree snail, looks like a cartoon character with a great big mouth and lips. But. He is a fantasy creature. A figment of our human imaginations. But alex is also a real live mangrove tree snail. How can that be? How can he be a fantasy and real at the same time? His big lips and mouth are really his foot. His real mouth is small and up near his eyes. It is only because the photographer has held him upside down that the 'foot' curled up until it looked like a big moth. There are often much mor...
