With the downturn in the economy over the past several years, WCA has had to try new avenues to raise additional funds to care for the orphaned and injured wildlife brought to us. In 2010, we piloted our Owl Release Program in which we contacted local vineyards interested in increasing their owl population for rodent control, in exchange for a donation to WCA. Place the container away from drafts. If the animal is very young (incompletely feathered, hairless, or with it’s eyes still closed), put it on a heating pad set to low. If the animal is older, set only half of the container on the heating pad (this will allow the animal to chose it’s ideal temperature). Injured or Adult Deer.

Monday we had a visit from the Wildlife Care Association. They are a local Sacramento group. That rescues native, local animals, rehabilitates them, and releases them back into the wild.
