Thursday, February 23, 2012. Amethyst Cabochon in a beaded bezel on a herringbone rope. This amethyst cabochon was too beautiful and transparent to have a backing. It is held in a white beaded bezel and surrounded with more white beads, transparent beads and larger amethyst beads. The bale is peyote stitch. So I made a herringbone stitch rope with the small white beads (size 11). And started a peyote stitch loop to attach the loop and toggle closure. Here is the loop and toggle closure all attached!

Tuesday, February 14, 2012. Okay, its not exactly an orchid, more like "orchid inspired". The bead store owner makes beautiful flower necklaces using the peyote stitch and her orchids actually look like orchids. This is from one of her classes. Counting, tracing the stitches on the graph paper and undoing boo boos matters. I really have to pay attention to what I am doing. Thursday, December 15, 2011. Hand knotted layered multi strand necklace. I started this project at a free lesson from Sparkling Ideas here in Chilliwack and finished it at home. I learned hand knotting which was easy and how to make a graduated layer necklace. I started out with some light blue cord and chose some slightly darker blue glass cube beads, dark blue size 8 seed beads for contrast, clear glass crystals for sparkle and silver metallic hearts to match with the silver coloured heart shaped clasp.
